Nope, both are Air Cooled. I use them for Folding primarily, and have 4 intake fans and two exhaust fans, creating good pressure to vacuum all of the air out of the case.

They run around the same temp range while benchmarking as well. They are great little cards.

what's your room temperature?
what's the idle temperature of the cards?

Folding for 23 hours 45 minutes, as shown at the bottom of the HWInfo at the bottom:  I made sure to include the picture of GPU 0 and GPU 1, so that you could see the Current, Maximum and Average temperatures.  I would say my room sits around 24c ambient, although I have no way to measure at this time.

Sitting Idle for 10 minutes after folding for 23 hours 45 Minutes.

I do not shut this computer down too often, but I constantly monitor the temperatures, make sure the updates are good, and that everything is running smooth.

thanks for the test Scarlet-Tech, it proves the cards are cooled well but still annoys me.
even given that my room temperature is 5C above yours, my card idles at 7-8C more and under full load it's even 18-19C hotter than yours.
this difference is way to high and I'm starting to think if something is wrong with the cooling of my card.

do you use a custom fan curve or is it set to auto?
did you apply a custom TIM to the GPUs? if yes which one?

I have Artic Mx-4 on all of my GPUs, and use a custom fan curve for sure. I have always suggested to change the thermal material ASAP, as I have found some pretty icky things when I pulled the coolers off of the PCB. I actually have before and after pictures on this forums, for a 750ti, 2 760s, and 3 780tis and I will add another 760 and possibly a 580 ASAP, so that we can see the manufacturers application.

I still suggest the backplates, if possible. They help with the support of the PCB a lot and make it look much more pleasing as well. I also order through Amazon for backplates, so that may save some funds as well.

well, I think first of all I'm going to replace the TIM on my card. it' quite hot here most of the year so no need for the card to get hotter than needed.
regarding the backplate, I'm working on it but where I live either no company is selling them or the shipment for the online purchase costs more than the backplate itself.

I saw you are selling Little Brother?!

Yes :-/ not excited about selling, but I need a way to fund a new (really good) case for an x79 build. I don't want to hijack this thread though, so I will keep it on topic.

If you would like, I can purchase the backplates and get them over to you (will take a few weeks, due to taking leave) and then I can repack them and ship them to you for less than shipping would cost from any company. I have prime, so shipping to my address will be fairly cheap. PM me if you are interested.

I would say I wouldn't do this for everyone, but I actually do this a lot, as I enjoy helping people. :-)

That does look awesome I have a system with 760s too. But now I mainly use a new system with 6GB 780 SC and I am not sure which back plate would fit. 06G-P4-3787-KR

you can look at the list using your exact product code to make the right choice.

and what's the impact of the backplates on the temperatures?

my card is 04G-P4-2768-KR and I'm considering a backplate only if it also helps running the card a couple of degrees cooler.

Ok so I ran a few benchmarks for 5 min and i got 3 degrees better.  My highs was 85C without the backplates and now I have 82 C.  Running in SLI mode . The second card had highs of 73 C,  which i thought was pretty nice

@R3YOWN$_ROG
it seems you get the EVGA's advertised 3C decrease, that's really just fine.
do you use a custom fan curve?
did you change anything fan related after mounting the backplates?

No I leave everything on default and do not mess with Overclocking settings.  I really have no need to overclock , my rig works flawlessly without any changes. Although I do keep my side panel off so that might help a little bit with heat but the CoolerMaster Storm Trooper case is Huge and has plenty of room .  I also have upgraded all my fans to corsairs fans which makes a difference in my opinion.

I did not even know the backplates reduce Heat, I bought them because they look sweet !  If I knew that , I would have bought them a long time ago

I'm glad you have them, they look really good and reduce the heat. double win.
I'm working on getting one as well and applying new TIM on CPU and GPU.
