I will be building a EVGA/Corsair pc.

I currently have the following:
EVGA X79 Dark
EVGA SuperNOVA 1300 G2
Corsair Force Series GT 180 GB SSD

What I am looking to get:
Corsair 750D Case
EVGA GTX 780 TI x2
Corsair Dominator Platinum 16GB Memory x2
i7 4930k
Corsair H105

One thing I have read is that 2400 memory has been having compatibility issues with the motherboard. I know I could just go with 1866 memory, but that is what I have an if I am going a bit all out with the build. I want to get at least 2400 memory. Any truth to this? Also, if anyone knows if I will have any issues with any of the other parts, either not fitting or not wanting to play nice with each other?

Thank you for any input and have a nice day.

I would think at default speeds the memory would not be an issue but I'll ask that you contact EVGA tech support for the most up to date info.

I don't know about any compatibility issue's with that brand or model of ram.  Somebody who's actually tried it would need to comment on that.

As far as the 2400 frequency, that's entering the grey area from everything I've read.  It's going to depend on your CPU and it's IMC.  If you have even a halfway decent chip, you'll probably have no problem at that speed.  In any case, I'd get the 2400 speed (if price is right) and if by some chance your chip can't run it, you can always run it a bit slower, ie; 2133.  Maybe tighten the timings a bit too then.

I have my 2400 MHz Corsair Memory running at 2133 MHz my CPU is the i7-4960X @ 4400 MHz 7x24
Are your GPUs going on water? if not then you should have one open slot between them for Air Flow, a must if you are using the ACX Cooler.

Your card links to the EVGA 03G-P4-2888-KR G-SYNC Support GeForce GTX 780 Ti Dual Classified w/ EVGA ACX Cooler.
On the X79 Dark you would use Slot 1 and Slot 3 they are the two x16 Slots.

I would also use that Bottom Additional Power for PCI-E and Set your Bios the same.

I have the EVGA SuperNOVA 1300 G2 Power Supply running 3 GTX Titans so you should have no problems running 2 GTX 780Ti Classified Cards.

I don't foresee any issues, but are you sure you want to go with x79 right when Haswell-E on x99 is about to come out?

The X99 platform will require a new CPU, motherboard, and DDR4 memory. Some people won't have that kind of budget. I wish I did though.

I have a Corsair 750D. I see that you have listed the ACX style cooler for your 780 Ti, but I think your case will get too hot if you are air cooling. Alternatively, you can choose the blower style cooler for your Ti, or water cool.
I cannot get my Kingston HyperX Beast 2400 MHz memory to run at the XMP speed with my 3930k, so I use another XMP Profile and run them at 2133MHz @1.6V. Rock solid.

I already have the x79 motherboard, I will be getting the 4930k cpu for native pci-e 3.0. Glad I asked about the memory. I looked up the x99 and the new cpus and did not notice that it shows the type of memory it supports. The 4930k only seems to go up to 1866 (That is what is says here.) and if I want to go higher natively, waiting the 5930k, might be the better way to go. I wont be going water cooling just yet. Will need to save up some more to get a really good water cooling system. I dont want to have to skimp on that of all things. I will be using 140mm fans (These ones.) to get better airflow and wont have any obstructions from the front of the case as I also wont be using the hard drive cages, SSD's only in this build so that airflow is much better. The cpu cooler will be placed on top. Not sure if in a push pull configuration yet though. Basically, airflow should not be a problem. I would have gone with the other gpu cooler, but the green on the side would have killed the red/white/black them I am going for.

Oh and yes, I do and will use the 6 pin power connector on the motherboard. Later, I want to add a 750 Ti as a physx card. I wont need it but, why not? lol

Thanks again everyone for your input and time.

Keep in mind though, X99 motherboards support DDR4 only, and it is not pin compatible with DDR3. The only issue I would say is the heat is trapped inside the 750D case and it would be tricky to get it out.
You can get the memory to run at 2133MHz easily, but getting to 2400MHz would like another poster said, it depends on your CPU IMC. Good luck.

True, but I figured since the OP only has the Motherboard it may make sense to wait if he can, then again Haswell-E is not as impressive as Skylake-E will be.

It's also worth noting that the Latency on the stock DDR4 is higher than the OC DDR3 chips.  Most of the DDR4 chipcs has a very high CLS + 2400Mhz is only the same speed as the DDR3.  DDR4 may be the way to go wit hthe x99 if you can wait and if you need the Extra CPU cores + extra memory bandwidth.  It's worth noting as we all know that the new tech comes at a higher cost, so even waiting may help you get cheaper x79 gen parts, as the prices start to fall.  Not sure how the CPU prices will be affected when the 5930k comes out.

I guess waiting a month wont kill me, but I sure did want to have the build finished asap lol. I want to get the pc to a "finished" state where I dont have to upgrade for a few years at least. But thanks everyone for the info. May just see what happens in september.

    @OP
You have a similar base setup to me.
    Dark, 4930k and a 1300G2.
Here is the memory I am running.  http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231678
Hallowen also ran this on his subzero benching rig with no issues.
Literally, at BIOS 2.09 I went into BIOS, hit XMP, set DIMM voltage to 1.65 and have not had a single issue since.
Normally I do not opt for XMP, however I had several ask me to try so I figured no harm in that and it worked like a champ.
My IMC is good, not great, I tried forcing it to 2666 which the memory is capable of, but it didn't want to without a LOT of voltage, so I left it where XMP put it 2400.

You IMC is what will make or break you, but if it is half way descent, I really see no issues at all.

Note on the X99 the CPU can still only handle 2 X16 GPUs not 3 X16 like I was hoping for.
So the X79 Dark is still the best way to go ATM.
Maybe the i7-4960X Price will drop once the i7-5960X is released.

I thought about that and decided to hold off on getting the memory and cpu. So for now, just getting 1 quad kit and the other parts since they are all on sale :D
