Hello. Since around update 337.88 black colors while watching videos or video game cinematics look pixelated and strange. Also images look weird too like the exposure is way off or something. What's strange about that is when I see the image without opening it in the folder it looks fine, even in the little preview thing on the side, but after I open the image it looks distorted. Also if I look at the same image within an internet browser. During that update I did have geforce experience and all that extra crap. Yesterday I did a clean install without any of the extras, just physx and the driver. I've checked my monitors settings and plugs too. Nothing. I'm not too savvy when it comes to this stuff so I have no idea what else to do. Been researching it for months with no help. Also I haven't bothered with any settings in the control panel other than single play performance mode since I have one monitor.

Here is an example :

The bigger image is the preview from inside the folder, the smaller image is after I open it. You can see the open image is darker and distorted a bit. This is crawling under my skin. Any advice?

    Josuph,
In your Nvidia control panel (adjust desktop color settings), are you using the Nvidia settings or Other applications option? Also, have you modified your color management (ICC profiles) through windows at all?

"Other applications control color settings" is ticked on desktop color settings, same for video image settings. No I don't remember ever messing with the color settings in both windows or nvidia control panel. Also thanks for replying.

What monitor do you have? Try using the last driver you know for certain didn't have the issue.

It's an HP w2207 LCD wide. The last driver that worked properly was 337.50. Pretty sure I've already tried that plus I'd have to update my drivers eventually that wouldn't really be fixing the problem.

Make sure you're running the latest display/monitor driver from HP if you don't already have it installed.

The latest drivers for this monitor are from 2011 or something, I downloaded it anyway (can't imagine how I'm not up to date) and it did nothing as expected. Like I said it was working fine all the way until around last May (driver 337.8). I've been using this monitor, desktop and graphics card for over a year with no problems until 337.8.

Try performing a clean boot of windows to see if it helps with the issue. If performing a clean boot failed to help resolve the issue try performing a system restore back to a date that you know for certain didn't have the issue, the reason I am recommending a system restore is because it's possible a windows update from Microsoft may be causing the issue.

It's possible but I'm not gonna go through all that just because some pixelation problems. Already been dealing with it all summer will just wait till I get new equipment or an update fixes it on it's own. Thank you for the help.
