    The new updates did something odd to my desktop.  If I install all of them, then do a defrag on my D: drive...the machine no longer reboots into Windows.  I get a loop of repairs and that is that.  Luckily, I have Acronis backup images to restore, or I would not be here this morning.  Three times I installed the updates and three times I have the same issue.  Something is interfering with the ability to defrag or optimize my drives.  I am adding one update at a time in order to try to isolate the culprit.  What a pain!

    I'm really hoping something in there will curtail the number of BSOD I've been experiencing.  Horrible experience so far!

    Yeah, something in the updates was causing problems. Microsoft has pulled one of the updates and recommends uninstalling it. Details at http://arstechnica.com/in...ninstall-recent-patch/

    Was too late.  Got stuck in a boot loop, where Windows kept trying a repair and failed.  Saw a solution three days later (two days too late for me).  Just did a clean install...machine purring like a cat right now
