so I recently moved to a better house ended up selling my computer to fix some cars repairs and I was allowed to buy two fish tanks 26 to 30 gallon acrylic tank and now the big one I pick up on Friday is 180 gallon with lights pumps sumps etc acrylic pre drilled show tank at a steal of a price 800.00 I will post pics later

so I am thinking of going with freshwater setup since the move no big pet stores around for at least hr drives

what I like to is rainbow fish Australian ,neon rainbows ,just basically setup different types of the rainbows in a large planted tank with live plant

or I could go with African cichlids  and rocks

or maybe a giant oil cooled pc lol just kidding

so I on my laptop until my next pc build later but to have a show tank I couldn't pass it up

any ideas for the tank please let me know thanks

Go with a tropical fish setup! Not salt water but tropical. Need a heater and the non refined aquarium salt. Still uses a fresh water pump and everything as the salt sits and dissolves over time.

It is freshwater.... I'm talking about tropical fish! I've had a tropical fish tank for 10 years now and you use all freshwater supplies... You just add a tablespoon of this every month:http://m.petsmart.com/mt/...%2FpsNotAvailInUS%2FNo
    http://m.petsmart.com/mt/...%2FpsNotAvailInUS%2FNo
One of those and buy tropical fish... Not saltwater fish but tropical fish. The difference between true salt and tropical is that tropical come from brackish water which is a mix but mostly fresh water.

I already got a 200 watt heater need to get a second one until I get a chiller for it.
I don't know if I want to do brackish water though.

I love fish tanks and used to have a 210 gallon Cichlid tank, but it just got to be too much work and I didn't have enough time to care for it properly.  Now I've only got a 10 and can't seem to keep anything but a Plecostamus alive.

I would do cihlids, more color range really.

I think that Cichlids are heartier too.  I once had one jump out of the bag from it was in while I was pouring it into the net so I could put it in the tank.  It landed in a plate of spaghetti on the counter.  I rinsed it off and put it in the tank.  It lived until I sold the tank several years later.

Looking for advice for a fresh or salt water tank?

Check out cichlid-forum.com, monsterfishkeepers.com, for fresh water. For salt water reefcentral.com, or nano-reef.com(though this is mainly for smaller tanks.)

I will warn you salt water is VASTLY more expensive. I'm ordering a hand made $600 LED light next month. Not to mention coral frags(small pieces) go for $10+ each, and those are low end ones. There's really no upper limit for high end pieces. Salt is a very pricey way to go but it is really cool.
