No, it will probably be another year (more than likely 2 at least) before I stick my paws into the x99/DDR4 world.

I will upgrade in December, target is X99 Classified. What this mean... " None of the boards have SATA-Express connectivity" ...But Z97 Classified is far nicer board that all EVGA X99 line, but now way to upgrade on expensive DDR3 platform now.

Unless something drastic happens, I see at least another year wait as well. I'm using a good chunck of my PC budget for the ASUS ROG Swift instead.

Maybe and I will delay than upgrade, but doesn't mean nothing, we will see what will happen. I can't before December any way. What I head M.2 is little faster than SATA Express but what is available from devices that's other story. I can say first for last 5-6 years I'm little disappointed with EVGA motherboard design. But simply is not possible to like to everybody. Lot of people will like. But that is not maybe final experience because EVGA hardware have such influence on me that more I look I like more and more. Same was with X79 Classified when I saw first time and now X79 FTW is one of nicest their board for me. Only if I remove this sign E somehow that will be completely different story. More pictures: Micro-ATX is best. Board is really cool.

This just might be my Retirement Gift to myself. So glad they Kept the Black and Red Colors. And that bottom PCIe Slot + the right angle fan connectors will now allow me to put in a 4th Video Card. I wonder if they will have a Trade-In program like they did with the X79 Dark, I would trade in one of my Classified Motherboards.

X99 Classified with water-block will be bomb, that's sure, PCB is excellent, these types of SATA Connectors are nicest. Every connector is angled, that's important.

Why does EVGA keep using the same design and features over and over? Looking at them there is nothing special at all, same color scheme and same "features".

Yup, same 8 sticks of DDR4 memory and same M.2 SATA slot just like all of EVGA's previous boards. Are you joking?

I don't know what people expect on motherboard or from motherboard. EVGA change little color scheme and with Z97 Classified, but I don't expect to see them in some color not usual for them. That's same as football team, they could change little, but some colors or two colors are their sign, simply and that change very rarely.

These boards are less than inspiring. at least to me. Not that I want some bling-bling flashy tacky board, but I don't know...these just look too boring and bland. To each their own. I do wish more companies would use the 90deg connectors though, that is a nice feature.

not being on the offense, but what would you personally want? I know they evga boards used to have red pcie but that was always complained about because it always turning pink. The black has grown on me a little. I wish they would not do the big ugly E, i much prefer how z97/z87 looked, I actually really like the z87 classified look. Like I said before these boards are too understated while the Asrock is overstated. The z87 classified didn't have such blocky sata ports, and the 24 pin mobo connection was covered 100%, this one has the wires exposed. The writing on the IO cover was red, instead of grey. It is small things like this that can easily make a board look better.

I like the fact that X99 microboards will debut along with the rest; with both X79 and X58, that wasn't the case. It was hard to find love for small among HEDT platforms; I wonder if Intel's decision to put 28-lanes on i7-5820K marks a change in thinking what boards to market to those that want a high-powered CPU but don't need the best GPU? One can hope. seta8967 not being on the offense, but what would you personally want? I agree with trabe3 in the sense that I'm so over the color black used everywhere, it makes most ATX boards look the same; I actually miss maze-yellow mainboards. That being said, my goals have shifted so much over the years that a lot of the stuff that you guys like or need from these boards, I just don't. I play mainly older PC games, so I don't need high-end graphics nor care about CPU overclocking; but because I do professional work, I will need a multi-core processor. I'd personally be happy if Intel made an LGA2011 variant with an IGP, or an X99 miniITX with one x16 slot.

Not I'm fair, I always say what I think, and people think maybe I love everything from EVGA but that was because I really like all their stuff, but this series is completely without taste...From my side, for other maybe this is fantastic, all of us think different, special because I didn't agree with many other people about MSI, GIGABYTE and other boards. Know I hope ASUS will save X99 build now I will definitely not hurry. I think on first place on 3 models. Formula with waterblocks probably under 300$, Extreme 5 and their WS boards. X79 E-WS is for me base how one high end clean motherboard should look, only color is terrible. And you see, she is nice from every angle and nice from any Rampage or Formula I could only imagine something like that completely black with gunmetal black heasinks. EVGA X99 heatsink is, I don't have word, not only bottom, you will see top heatsink from different angle, and special long pipe near socket. Bad... I'm really sorry because I didn't like, but I can't against self... What if I build now ASUS motherboard, later if EVGA launch again something nice as before I will back. Their hardware is always in my heart on first place, only this is not something what I like for my build.

I am surprised that EVGA's board has so few heatsinks. EVGA's board is only 8 phase CPU, 4 phase memory? The ASUS board above looks like it has 12 phase CPU, 4 phase memory. 1/4 more phases but more than twice as much heatsink area? Just an educated guess, but surprising. Having bigger heatsinks is nice when your watercooling and don't have a big CPU fan there by the power regulation heatsinks.

We still didn't see ASUS boards, we can't say, but they will install hundred things on motherboard and two hundred option in BIOS. They should launch and new BIOS. I was hope to try that new EVGA BIOS, I really like him and options are nice... For 400$ EVGA had place to install two little blocks instead this terrible heatsinks. I remember worse heatsink I saw on motherboards are blue fire from ASUS P67 series, and all such shapes are not my style... now GIGABYTE board have nicer heat sinks than EVGA, MSI too... I expect something as GTX780Ti Classified PCB compared to other boards, one thing is sure I can bet this board will work better than any other. That's always like that.

You own a MSI Motherboard P67A-GD55 Per your Why are you slamming EVGA's Motherboards and comparing them to ASUS Motherboards. I own both EVGA Motherboards and ASUS Motherboards and lean to EVGA Motherboards. The only real advantage I have really found on the ASUS Motherboards are Water Blocks. Although ASUS uses More Red then Back and EVGA uses more Black the Red (What I like) EVGA Motherboards are $150 to $200 less expensive, better tech support, great RMA process, and the Step-Up Program not to forget this Forum too.

I am not slamming EVGA's motherboards. I just said that I was surprised that their Classified board (usually the "all-out" model) didn't have more power phases and larger heatsinks. Not a slam at all. Pricing and value are important to people also. It just surprised me. I burnt a MOSFET on one of my MSI boards BTW while doing high voltage subzero CPU cooling. So I am not saying the MSI board is any better in this department or anything like that.

No complains from my side for colors. Only motherboard for first 8 core Intel and both others CPU with 6 core should leave deep impression on first look. Something as ASRock X79 Extreme 11, X79 E-WS, immediately you know they are for Extreme CPU, not because 8 DIMM slots from both sides. Example 10 phases it's not bad if they build nice and write BIOS nice.
