Given the rumored specs of the card (do a quick google search), what kind of increase do you think I will get from my single SC 780? Trying to see if the rumored $500-$600 price will be worth it or to just wait until the next wave.

880 would be equivalent performance difference as a gtx 780 vs 780 ti?

Unless money is of no concern, I've always went by the "every other rule" I doubt you will be seeing any massive gains going from an already high end current generation card. If you were stepping up from a 680, that would be a different story. Unless Nvidia & AMD deiced to step out of the normal marketing(which they won't), gains will be the same as they have been from generation to generation.

I'm waiting for when the non 800 Vanilla series of GPUs comes out. I'm being very patient for this stuff. If ppl just buy a boatload of Vanilla 880s when they come out, they might not like it when the Ti and Classified Models come out. Even the 870s as well.

I wouldn't expect a major performance increase if the 880 remains 28nm, because there's only so much that can be done within the same die size / power constraints without ending up with another massive power-guzzling chip.

Also if the rumors are true the 880 GTX will be the GM204 core, while the full-size GM200 core will launch later as the Titan II. If this is the case then a 20nm version of the Titan II will be the next sweet-spot... only question is if it will be called the 880 Ti, or the 980 GTX when it arrives.  All theory and conjecture of course, it'd doubtlessly be a year after the 880 launches before the 900's have a chance to show up. Then again the 480 -> 580 transition was a mere 8-month gap so nobody really knows. It all hinges on when 20nm production finally ramps enough for NVIDIA to properly use.

Rumors are the 880 (GM204) will be faster than a 780 Ti(GK110). Assuming a 880 Ti will come later (GM210), I think we'll see a decent boost in performance.

Aren't rumors suggesting the GTX 880 is not the successor to the 780/780 Ti?  GM204 like the above poster said, not GM200 or GM210.  We'll have to wait and see if it beats the 780/780 Ti at larger resolutions.  If you're only at 1080p and plan to stay there for a while, then you don't have to think too hard on this.
