• Download the correct .zip file below for your motherboard:

• Close all open programs
• Go into the folder where you unzipped this package and run Windows_Update.bat
• Press any key to continue
• Click YES when the User Account Control message appears
• Press Y in to start the flash process
• DO NOT TURN OFF POWER OR RESET DURING THE FLASH PROCESS
• After the flashing is finished, the system will automatically shut down after a key is pressed. Then power on again and go into BIOS to setup.

• Create a bootable disk.
• Extract the above .zip file to your bootable disk.
• From a DOS prompt, run DOS_Update.bat

• Press Y in to start the flash process
• DO NOT TURN OFF POWER OR RESET DURING THE FLASH PROCESS
• After the flashing is finished, shut the system down completely. Then power on again.

I am trying to update the bios in DOS but I keep getting the file size wrong error.
 
I dont have a HD to install an OS on at the moment, and I need to update the bios so I can use the processer I have, I am currently borrowing one till I can get this updated.

Out of all the files that where downloaded on the zip CONFIG.SYS  was not one of them.

We are attempting to reproduce this problem in our labs in order to find the culprit but are so far unsuccessful. What slot exactly stops working?

NEW BIOS?   JUST IN TIME!   I'm about to finally go under H20 for the first time!  (The last of the parts should ship out to me Monday).  I doubt I will build until Feb 2nd or 3rd - my gal is visiting during the weekend prior.  My PC is where all of my media is.  I am not going to chance that being down when she is in town! 

I was running a 3820 @ 5.0GHz - It was pretty wonderful other than the fact that I can't load up all 4 cores due to my high VCore (TEMP)  I SOMEHOW made it into windows once @ 5.5GHz but NOTHING would work (understandably).  Not sure how I managed that.

Well I paid a hefty premium for a pair of powercolor 290x's.   They were a nice bit less than I can find them for now.   This will provide me with MINING coins, insane gaming and winter heat.   The electricity to run full bore would cost me more than the cards in about 16 months (1KW, 24/7)- I was planning to do solar in the fall but my hand is forced to a springtime solar install.   After the Coins drop below a certain profitability point I will switch over to FOLDING @ home.   

This will provide me with SOME income in the short term (though I don't know how many I will hold on to - I suspect most of them).   It will provide me with "free" heat in my 250Square foot home and if I can get lucky and push those cards far enough....   maybe 500,000PPD Folding (When I include my 3820 @ 5.5Ghz or maybe 6?)    DREAM BIG!   I suspect 450k PPD is a very realistic target.  Like most of my tools or toys these cards and the CPU must be able to survive a journey to hell and back!
