+1 They probably don't want to release it with the 880/870 so they can squeeze out as many Titan-Z sales as possible. nVidia doesn't want their own ~ $1,500(assuming the 880 will be $549 max each) or less dual-gpu card being faster than their $3k dual-gpu card.

Why worry about the 890 when there isn't even a 790 lol.

The Titan-Z without double precision is what the 790 is supposed to be. I highly doubt if nVidia is releasing the 880/870 soon they'll deal with a 790. An 890 would make more sense.

880(non Ti) for $500, if lower watts, hi cuda count and comes close to the 780Ti, might be worth it. After this last cash grab for the 700's series, Nvidia needs to show some respect, but this day and age, its all about the quick cash vs QC and keeping the customers....

I'm not falling for Nvidia's initial offerings this time around. I'm waiting on the 890TI OC OMGBBQFTW edition before I get anything. But at last it seems the 800 series is on the way...

Yes but GTX880 4GB 256bit PCIE 3.0 that's real successor of GTX680. And who miss GTX700 series could be OK option. Special if reference model is 450$ as they say for SLI is not bad at all. For premium card I still think people could invest in GTX780Ti before show up GM210 with 8GB 512Bit PCIE 3.0 maybe we hear and some news about DX12 in that period. I expect about 45-50% performance difference from Titan Black, more memory and 512bit interface and more performance will give one nice card for 1440p because Games will not pass 8GB Video memory for next 5 years. I think GM210 Titan II default clock will be minimum 40% difference from premium GTX780Ti models. Only money is problem, this year I'm satisfied because for 750e I had performance of Titan Black and 200MHz fabric OC and that mean faster graphic card because Titan Black no such high OC model. That's always some maximum price I was ready to pay. Maybe 50e more... I don't know what will be with Titan II with price.

Well looks like I am going to be holding on these dual 670s SC 4GBs for a bit longer. I am not going to buy that 800 series crap. It pisses me off that there going to make these cards with a 256bit. They are cheaping out again. Like some of you said they want to squeeze as much profit as they can. The 800 series is going to be just like the 600 series crap in which the 900 series is going to be like the 700 series. Basically the 900 series will be the 800 series true potential of power of Maxwell architecture, just as the 700 series is the true power of the 600 series of cards for Kepler architecture. The 900 series cards are supposed to be built on a 384bit just as the 700 series cards are built on. The Maxwell architecture is going to be a repeat of the Kepler architecture. From past rumors I read the 900 series of cards will produce the "Titian product" of card.

blame AMD, Nvidia could have released the 780 Ti as a the GTX 680 had the 7970 not been as fast as the card that was detined to be the GTX 660 lol. Nvidia made a smart move with the 600 series, AMD's 7970 would tie the GK104 which was to be a GTX 660 going by the 4 at the end. So nvidia saw a chance and took it. They where still faster than the GTX 500 series.

its so frustraiting reading posts like this as if the GK100 was EVER ready for release. That chip was not released in any form because it had issues, not because amd could not compete. If the GK100 could have been released in some form to get back some of the R&D, they would have regardless of what AMD had done.

its been in just about every rumour news story. for some reason my phone won't let me paste but is directly in this story that iy will be a 25% increase. maxwell is focused on power effeciency and nvidia is said that it has more focus on 4k gaming which would mean more vram. I feel as though people don't read the links and jump to conclusions. the only rumored downside is the 256 bit bus. Though take everything with a grain of salt since these are just rumors as I said in the 2 nd post and rjohnson said.

My 2 x EVGA GTX-680 FTW+ 4GB cards are proving to live up to the FTW name (meaning upgrade might be waiting for the 900 series). Comparison of RUMORED specs (that ok by you seta8967? ). Interesting, considering they are more than 2 & half years apart.

they did, 2 months later the newest tesla was on sale making back that money for Nvidia and not having to produce the amount of dies needed for both the professional and gaming communities.

My 2 x EVGA GTX-680 FTW+ 4GB cards are proving to live up to the FTW name (meaning upgrade might be waiting for the 900 series). Comparison. Interesting, considering they are more than 2 & half years apart.
how can yoi run a comparison on a gpu we don't even know anything about other than rumors. and I may be wrong but wasn't gm104 the gtx750, not the 880 gpu? while we are on the idea of rumors, I heard 390x will have 1nm gpu and 16gb gddr6 and run on 120watts and only produce 20c at max capacity.
