My 4 year old card began to artifax and is useless. Is there any way to fix it? . . . Does EVGA do repairs? . . . or does it go in the trash?

Welcome to the forums..EVGA doesn't do repairs..If it's under warranty, RMA it.

If it's not under warranty, chances are very good that you can fix it by disassembling it and baking only the PCB like this..Solder cracking on the PCB is a common cause of artifacting..Baking should reflow any solder cracks that might exist and with luck it will work just fine again for a while, or a long time..Bake with the GPU side up, not down as in the video.

Good luck.

i wouldn't know how to find about any warranty; the only thing i can find related to that card is the sales receipt from 09/19/10, and looking around the house i can't find the box or anything. would evga give me warranty info?

Don't need the box..Here is more info about RMA..Go to the top of this page and click on Member Home and then My Products to see if you registered it, and go from there..You can contact Customer Support at 888.880.EVGA (3842)..BTW, your card isn't overheating is it?..Do you know what temperature it gets up to and did you try reinstalling the video driver, or is it artifacting as soon as you turn on your PC?

If you can locate the serial number on the sticker on the back of the card, and give us a call as suggested above at 1-888-881-3842, we can check the warranty status for you. I would suggest registering the card to an EVGA Account before calling to make the process quicker.

BELIEVE IT OR NOT! . . . I had some free time today and baked it. . . hahaha . . . used an oven for the 1st time in my life, stuck in the card and when it reached 390 degrees I took it out. (I know that's not the way it's supposed to be done) After it cooled I put it back together & back in the computer . . . AND IT WORKS DAMMIT!, I'm using it now!

I have an old 8800GT i'm going to try it on too. Glad I never trashed that one.

. . . and thank you all for your replies . .

You're welcome..Baking will probably fix the 8800 GT too, they were made back in an era where solder cracking was even more common.
