Hi.

Probably very simple, but I've upgraded my PC to W7 64bit, and downloaded the latest motherboard drivers, but when I plug an external drive into the esata port, it's not being recognised.  I guess I need another driver.  Any ideas please?

Check the device manager when the item is connected. Do you see any yellow exclamation marks there?

    Hi.
No, nothing.  I think I had the problem when I first got the PC and I had to install another driver (Jmicron or something???).  This was XP though.

Try this driver, it's the latest NFORCE driver which i beleive controls the eSata ports:

    32bit : http://www.nvidia.com/dow...sults.aspx/30654/en-us
    64bit : http://www.nvidia.com/dow...sults.aspx/30655/en-us

Heatware: Trelor - I primarily use eBay which is attached to my heatware.

Thanks, but that's the driver which is already installed.  The port shows up in the device manager.
    I have
    IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers
      ATA Channel 0
      ATA Channel 1
      NVIDIA nForce Serial ATA Controller
      NVIDIA nForce Serial ATA Controller
      NVIDIA nForce Serial ATA Controller
Standard Dual Channel PCI IDE Controller
All of the drivers indicate they are working OK, but when I plug in the external drive, it doesn't get picked up.

Note : I can swap the external drive from sata to usb and it then gets installed, so I know the drive is OK.

Odd, I did a few googles and it all pointed back to that.  Maybe evga tech support can assist further.

Thanks for your help.  I googled too and there are quite a few different versions of the jMicron, but I wasn't sure which one I needed.  I'm sure the jMicron driver is what I had to install when I first got the PC when it had XP on it.

How do I get support from the evga tech support?  Will they pick up these threads?

Thanks.  I've tried to register, but it doesn't recognise the serial number linked to the card.  I know it's correct as I've taken a photo before trying to enter the details.  I guess it may be too old to register now???

Hopefully, I'll get some feedback from one of the support guys on here.

Thanks for your help.  Found the serial number eventually (had to remove the graphics card).

Turns out the BIOS has been changed when a colleague upgraded the OS and he disabled the JMICRON port.

    All working fine now.
