I received my September's copy of Maximum PC and in it they had the Torq 10 review.  EVGA, did you guys know that they gave this mouse a 6 out of 10?  Which ain't good!

6 is above five hundred, yes, but in Maximum PC's rating scale, 6 is very bad!  What went wrong?  Do you guys (EVGA) get to rebut their score?  Man, I was shocked....  I guess I'll keep looking for another mouse????   any ideas?  Razar Orborous (sp too lazy to look it up)

I have not seen the article but I have been using mine since launch and am very pleased with it.  It reminds me in many ways of my Logitech G9 I had for years.

It seems like most mice reviews are based in part on the preferences of the reviewer.  Not all mice are for all people.  I think the Torq 10 is a great mouse for me.

I read the article and agreed with most of the stuff there. However, it fits my hand nicely and opening the top to add weight is easier if you push the lid backwards instead of trying to pry it open.

Lol, yeah.  I guess they are trying hard to stay ahead of the "internet" with the printed editions.  :)

When I subscribed to gaming/PC magazines it would drive me nuts that the issue I was getting was 1-2 months off.

I initially got one with a faulty right clicker, but RMA'd through EVGA and the one I got now works flawlessly.  From what I've read most hardware reviewers have given it pretty good scores.  I'd personally recommend it.

If you based this score of 6 7 as bad from one review, then you must miss out on a lot of really good movies that have scores of 5 or less.
Never, Never Ever base a buy on a Single Review.
Buy It, Review It Yourself, and if unhappy with it return it.
I like mine and all the ones I bought as Gifs they love their as well.

My Review of a Razar Mouse that cost me $120.00 And Best Buy would not refund me, that was the last time I bought Computer Hardware from Best Buy.

Actually the score was a 7/10 not 6.

Anyways, mouse is a highly personal device, so I would recommend to always read multiple reviews and/or try it yourself to see if you like it!

MaximumPC hasn't been Maximum for years, more like MaximumCash for the highest bidder. In other words, take MPC with a 1/2 gran of salt.

like others have said, mice are such a personal preference. I'd game with a Wacom Tablet "pen" if I could.....

Things I've noticed that could be problematic in the long run with my T-10 mouse. Not knocking the evga brand so don't hate... just giving my honest opinion of this mouse.

-Side buttons are cheap and flimsy. Already one of them is warped a bit because side pressure actually bends the button upwards. -Doesn't push it straight in to the switch.

    - Once the mouse feet are wore down a little , the slightest pressure on the left or right side causes the bottom side of the mouse to "scrape" the mouse pad. To prevent side scraping , the silver base of the mouse should have extended a few millimeters beyond the outside shell.

    - Why not have a magnetic top instead of the frail clips used on the lid of the mouse? Already mine have cracked and yes I followed the quick start guide on how to properly open the mouse housing.

-Mouse wheel has a flaw and is weak on one side. The evga torq 10 doesn't have a tilt middle wheel and yet if you push it to the right it makes a middle click. If I push it to the left.. its solid. Bad design.

Well there's my opinion. Overall the sensor is flawless. But the design of this mouse seems to be poorly though out. -Maybe version 2 will have these small issues fixed...

the side buttons are indeed off center... it's actually easier to click them with a lifting motion than straight in which is a bit stiff, haven't noticed any warping though yet
agreed on plate mounting, or at least it should be level with the shell, instead of slightly recessed
the top actually does have magnetic mounts in addition to the clips... if the clips were bump retained instead of hook retained it would probably solve the issue
the reason the wheel clicks with pressure to one side is because that's the side the actual button is mounted on... could probably be lessened if there was less looseness from left to right (it's a bit noisy because of that), but it could also provide a future enhancement by placing a button on either side, and  treating the wheel as a rocker toggle

still I'm enjoying mine, particularly at the price point from newegg

I wish I would have won one of these. It sounds like the type of thing with enough quirks that I'd enjoy hacking and fabricating into something better. EVGA probably could ave saved themselves a ton of money, time and effort if they had done a proper community beta test.

Been using mine since release and love it very much. I was apprehensive about getting rid of my Tt eSports Black Element Cyclone. But after 1 day with the Torq I throw rocks at the Tt mouse.
