Z87 Stinger and 4690K Compatibility?

Hi there,
My local PC store has a good deal on their remaining stock of the EVGA Z87 Stinger and an even better price when you pair it with a CPU.  But they only have 4690K's and 4790K's in stock.  EVGA CPU compatibility page says these two CPU's are supported but will I need to do a BIOS update first?  I don't have any socket 1150 CPU that I can boot up with to perform a BIOS update.

    The motherboard will not boot or post without a working CPU.

    Can't speak specifically on the Stinger, but I just built out a Classified and the BIOS that was loaded on the motherboard (2 revs back) was sufficient for me to load the new BIOS with the new 4690K processor.

    If memory serves, had to do ' hard' shutdowns until the new BIOS was installed.

    The way I read his post was that he does not have a CPU that will fit an 1150 socket.

    Mr.E, can you elaborate?

    If you try and boot in and you can't due to BIOS, give EVGA a call and they can send you a new BIOS chip to replace the current one.

    Okay thanks guys so I'll just go pickup the board and a 4690K.  I'll take a bit of a chance based on what you said delarisch.  If it doesn't post to do the BIOS update with the 4690K, I'll just cry to EVGA and try to have them send me a replacement BIOS chip.
