I don't see the advantage over my Xbox 360 controller...

Plus, phone not exactly made for that.  My 360 controller takes a pretty good pounding...not sure if my LG G2 is up to that...

Therein lies the caveat: Perhaps the market is for someone that doesn't already own a controller of any type, but has both an Android-based phone w/accelerometer and a PC to game on?  In fact that is probably the only market as I'm sure plenty prefer to use keyboard/mouse.  Although, it would be a cheaper way to get people into PC gaming coming from console without having them get used to keyboard/mouse for gaming.

I remember the first time I play a first-person game on PC, I hated it because the neck movements were too fast and I got dizzy; the catch was I was moving the mouse around too much.  Up until then I played RTS and Combat FS on PC, this meant mouse movement wasn't entirely connected to the view unless you scrolled beyond.  I didn't realize how much I normally moved it.  If I had a controller back then for the first-person game (the first Halo), it may have been easier on me.

For Intel processors, 0.122 x TDP = Continuous Amps at 12v [source].

One key benefit from gaming specific controllers is tactile feedback of the controls. You don't get tactile feedback from a touchscreen. It's one thing I hate about touchscreen interfaces.
