So I finally got around to taking advantage of stepping up to an EVGA 780 6gb. The option was available to me a few days ago but has since disappeared. I have 4 days left. Am I out of luck?

Seems like the step-up system is bugged according to customer service. They have since added back the 780 6GB SC but once I go through the step-up procedure, it does not place me in the que. Another bug I hope is fixed soon.... 4 days left!

All issues resolved. Step up process went through. Now awaiting approval! EVGA = #1

    Hi,

I'm trying to step up to a 780 6Gb also, but the option has disappeared from the EU list of available cards. Is there any way to fix this?

    Cheers,
    Matt

    mattmos,

I do see that the list on the US site has details for both the US and EU region.  The 780 6GB is not on the EU list.  The EU site has the same information, showing no 780 6GB for available as an option.  With the Step Up program you have to be aware that Products can be removed from or added to Step-Up availability at any time.

With that in mind, I will see if we can have our EU Team look into this and either contact you or post on here. We do appreciate your patience while we try to assist you further.

Hi Eddie, thanks for the reply. We bought 14 cards with the understanding that they could be upgraded to 6Gb cards when they arrived in stock which we were told would be well within the 90 days. We do GPU rendering so the amount of ram was the main selling point, and it leaves us with cards which won't perform as well as they could with more complex scenes. We do also plan to buy many more, as we increase our rendering capacity (doubling or tripling cards in each machine) but it will be a hard sell for me to recommend more evga cards unless we're able to resolve this. I hope you can help us to figure something out.
    Thanks for your time,
    Matt

First, what model card did you purchase 14 of? Did you buy the extended warranty on all 14 cards? Extended warranty is required for the Step-up program, but as I understand it this can be purchased after the fact while still in the 90-day window.

But most importantly, if you bought GTX 780 3 GB cards, which is what I infer, then you cannot step up to the 6 GB model of the same card (this is specifically outlined in the Terms & Conditions of the EVGA Step-Up program).

Regardless, with a purchase that large, you should contact EVGA support directly, or at least open your own forum thread.

Sprinx, the cards are definitely qualifying in terms of warranty.

Regarding the step up option from 3Gb to 6Gb, see here: www dot evga dot com/articles/00830/   (replace the dot with . - posting restrictions for new members)

If the card is available for the US, I would hope that it would be available for the EU as well.

Ah, I wasn't aware that they made an exception for these cards. In that case, everything should be fine. Like I said, you may want to contact EVGA support directly.
