I thought Android was strictly an ARM-based OS, unless either it can emulate x86 or Intel is making ARM-based Broadwell parts?

For Intel processors, 0.122 x TDP = Continuous Amps at 12v [source].

Starting Android 4.0, the os was ported to x86. I think 4.0.1 was the first fully functional version with the source code released. it will be regular x86 based broadwell running on Android.

I read up a bit just now, seems to be an unofficial initiative not sponsored by Google, so it would surprise me that Intel is supporting this, although I think the wording isn't surprising.  Intel could just happen to be making these Broadwell processors for a general mobile theme (as they have been all along) and Intel was able to convince a few OEMs to choose the open source x86 Android OS.

That's very interesting. This is a tablet that's already out, it's $149 and has an intel bay trail x86 cpu and is running Android. I couldn't tell if it is an official or unofficial port.

Why would you want to screw with Android on an x86-64 based piece of hardware when you can run a real OS on it?
