Everything seemed to be going fine I could run BF4 on ultra at 50/60 FPS, But playing AC black flag my frames aren't smooth and i keep dropping to as low as 15FPS even without any anti aliasing and lowering the graphics it still does it. I assumed it was just the game but i played minecraft today and normally my frame rate was a constant 120 with my old GTX 660 ti So obviously i would have assumed a 780 could handle minecraft but it keeps dropping to 50/60 frames and really stuttering the game. I feel like something isn't right at all with my card because of that. I've checked my drivers are upto date.
Any suggestions i could try to figure out whats causing these frame rate drops?

I'm running 120mhz ASUS monitor
intel i7 CPU 950 @ 3.07 GHZ
8GBs of ram
Western digital Green 1TB harddrive
750watt powersupply

I'm pretty sure my CPU is bottlenecking anything.

Any help would be great please.

Haven't played AC4 but from what I've read, the game is horribly optimized.

Your Minecraft framerate is a different story though. No reason you should be getting less frames than a 660 Ti. Something is definitely wrong there.

What brand/model Power Supply do you have?

Yeah i read up about that too which made me assume it was the game.

The power supply is a EVGA supernova NEX750G

Hmm well I'd start monitoring temps/fan speeds under load. Make sure the card is not throttling. Wouldn't hurt to clean out your drivers with a driver cleaner too. I've been using Display Driver Uninstall. Nice and simple, only one step, mostly automated. Make sure you're in safe mode before you use it.

You could try running some benchmark programs too and compare your score to others.

1st- BF4 is full of bugs! it crashes and it is lame! trust me i tried to play!
2nd- your set up is fine! i ran BF4 at medium settings @ 1600x1200 with my old 8800GT!now with my gtx760sc it runs on ultra settings @2560x1600

well gonna tell you what eventually some friends here told me:

1 uninstall EVERYTHING! drivers, precision or msi afterburner, etc! everything gfx related! i mean EVERYTHING! ;)

2 in safe mode clean all the remaining driver junk you got! do it as many times necessary using drivers sweeper or their new DISPLAY DRIVER UNINSTALL also great!

3 reboot and switch off any protection software ( ie : antivirus, anti malware, etc), then install the display driver, nvidia sound and do not install GeForce experience cause it seems is giving a lot of issues during gaming.
install 3d vision  ONLY if you use it!

4 install precision or any other oc software you use.

5 -in the end run display driver uninstall that will give you a list of display drivers installed. there should  only be one! the 331.82 ones!

see here my example in the image below!

6- then in 3D panel set energy management to PREFER MAXIMUM performance!

and you should be fine! but remember.. bf4 is more unstable then nitroglycerin in a hot day at the desert  hehehe  xD

OH and carefull when OC cause i read here somewhere that some psu's at ripple level are not as good as they were before when new! carefull!
your psu is fine to! is gold+ rated and is new! it should deliver ;)

This was when i just have google chrome running.
This was playing AC black flag with all setting turning to high and FXAA on I was running at 21fps
Yeah it sounds like i might have to clean all my drivers i had 3 different graphics cards in my machine a GTX 465, 660 ti and the 780 with countless drivers been installed. If i buy a new harddrive  that will give me a clean slate to work on right? I do have the geforce experience running too in the background too. Would that effect it?

Remember, if you decide to use DDU, it's only 1 step. There's no need to "uninstall everything" and so fourth. You don't even have to uninstall your video drivers. Just make sure you're in safe mode before running the program or you might run into problems. And disable EVGA precision, Afterburner, Antivirus.

I need some help. I'm getting lower fps than I think I should be on a number of games. Sleeping Dogs with the hi-res pack on extreme runs at 45fps while my friend who has the same card gets solid 60 with vsync on and more if not. max payne 3 at full AA tells me I'm only using 2030mb of vram and yet I'm getting 27fps. Hitman and some others are similar. I think it's related to AA as the frames go up when I turn is off. My setup is as follows:
    i7 4770k 3.5ghz
    gtx 780 sc acx
    16gb kingston hyper x ram
    750w 80+ gold psu
    asus hero VI
I've done a clean install of the latest driver and nothing is overclocked. I've read on many forums that my system should be able to handle pretty much anything at 60fps. It is bothering me because I paid £400 for this card and expect top quality performance. Could someone suggest some others things to try please?
