Here are my specs:

CPU: Intel® Core i7-4770k OC @4.5GHz
GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 780 Classified 3GB
RAM: 16GB Corsair Vengeance Pro @ 2200MHz
SSD: Corsair Force Series 240Gb
HDD: Seagate 2TB 7200 RPM SSHD

I am just wondering if its worth folding. Can I make a profit? Will it degrade my hardware to far that I wont have the profit off of my folding to replace it?

Thanks!

CPU: Intel® Core i7-6700K OC @4.6GHz

RAM: 16GB G.Skill TridentZ @ 3600MHz CAS 16

HDD: Seagate 2TB 7200 RPM SSHD

Headset: Astro A40
Mouse: Logitech G502 Spectrum RGB
Keyboard: Corsair K70 Cherry MX Red

Its worth it, its for a great cause. No you can't  make a profit, this is completely different then bitcoin/mining.  You can earn 10 evga bucks(store credit) a month I am pretty sure you'll pay that in electric. It causes abit of heat so keep a good check on your temps and your hardware should last till your looking at buying a newer generation of graphics card. I have been out of the loop so I'm not sure how long it would take on a 780 to get the 10bucks evga store credit.

Of course it's worth it.  You could hit the 1.5 mil point level for $10 EVGA bucks in 10 days with only the 780 running.  Factoring in electricity costs you won't really be making a profit but the point is to help with the research for cancer and other diseases. With your rig you could do a good amount of points every month and that is a big help.  Rough estimate at least 200,000 ppd.

The $10 EVGA bucks makes it worth it IMO.  After all the drama over the past year I was about to drop FAH for good this time until I discovered EVGA's incentive program.

Long time folder + only buy Nvidia + only buy EVGA = $$$ Profit

Rough estimate at least 200,000 ppd.

Maybe you've been able to push the clocks on your Classified higher than my models (an SC and a FTW), but mine, running at 1201 and 1215 MHz, only crack 200k on some WUs.  190k is the more typical figure.
    EDIT
As pointed out below, I was overlooking the CPU's contribution.  200k is very doable with that in the mix.

Pretty sure the rough estimate was including the CPU. (I know I would)

nice rig you have there, electricity would make it even or cost more to run.

Is it automatic for points to add your account once you reach a million within a month? thanks.
I'm interested to know im getting free electric from my solar panels :)

Good point.  I haven't folded on my CPU in so long I forgot about it.

Are you asking if EVGA Bucks get added automatically?  They don't; you have to go to http://www.evga.com/folding/MyFolding.asp to manually request each milestone, and it can take several days before it's approved and the Bucks get added.

do you put any excess electricity generated back into the system? and if so, do you get paid for it?

depending on if you put back into the grid and how much you get paid, it may be more beneficial to Fold
at times when you are not generating electricity.

or, as in my case, because I only get paid 8c Kw that I return to the grid, but get charged 30c kw for electricity I use from the
grid, it is better for me to fold during the day when I'm getting electricity from my solar panels than it is to
    wait until nighttime.

Yeah i was estimating with CPU based off my 3930k at 4.4GHz and my 780 Classified at the out of the box clock speed. At the very least, when you're ready to upgrade your PC you get a little discount from the EVGA bucks accumulated from folding.
