Hi everyone,

Haven't posted for quite some time, everything has been working. Last night the system locked up and has not been able to boot since. MB shows error C1 and I tried everything.

-tried each memory stick (4) individually in each slot(4) 16 scenarios
-reset CMOS and removed battery for 15 minutes

Think my motherboard I bought back in 2007 is done?
Could it be the power supply?
Is it time to upgrade?

Thanks for any HELP on this,

Cheers

Likely not an issue with the power supply.  What you can try, with the motherboard on a flat surface, is push down on the BIOS chip.  If it has become lose you should hear it 'crunch' in place, you'll need to put some force behind it.

That's an easy thing to try to be sure it's not an issue but it's possible a component that deal with memory has failed (trace or northbridge) and is resulting on the failure on C1.

Test that out, may be able to get a bit more out of the champ but sounds like it's given its all.  Keep us posted.

C1 is a memory error. If one stick at a time does not work, then it may be the memory controller. Try what Erik suggested. Post back with an update.

no luck, tried several times on the bios chip, I think she's done.

    Time for a new system.

    Thanks everyone.

Yeah, sadly, sounds like the memory controller is fried.

If the board is still under warranty, call EVGA support to setup an RMA.
