Hi all, I've been watching this topic evolve the past couple months and decided to contribute something. I'm in Australia and work at a retail outlet and spoke with the supplier of Asus monitors last week, who put me onto Asus Australia, who put me onto their marketing team who i have a number for now and they told me pre-orders will be in August, at least in Australia and will not be going directly to retailers for at least a few months post release (luckily she will put one aside for me :P) so i have a feeling one of the reasons for the slow responses is the production process is taking longer than expected.

side note - can not believe all the personal info required in sign up wow.

If the rumor mill is true it's coming Via boat. Should see it end of July most likely August here in the US.

For now this little 24" is kind of holding me over.

Forget that!

I'll  pay $800 USD and wait. Any day now guys we should see a pre-order site in the US. The Brits are doing reviews and they're pre-orders will be in at the end of the month.

I'm reading nothing but awesomeness from the Brits reviews.

Asus stated $800 USD still not cheap but you get what you pay for most of the time.

Yeah, I got myself used to the idea of paying $800 for this monitor.  I don't know if I would pay anything higher than that.

i have no doubt i will be seeing gaming setups from you guys with the monitor before me... although we might be slightly closer to China :) i feel like a kid waiting for a Christmas present, except there's no specific day for Christmas... so it's worse. every review i've seen has said the TN panel is the best TN they've ever seen and unless you have a real eye it's as good as some IPS panels too. I'm glad this forum hasn't done the 'it's not an IPS panel it must be crap' discussion. i have a 2nd monitor as an IPS monitor and its fantastic to watch movies on etc... im a gamer, IPS can't give me 144hz, 1ms gtg response, g-sync etc... not opening it up for discussion just pointing out the obvious in conclusion lol.

Same situation with the X79 Dark last summer. We're all waiting around and badgering poor Jacob with status updates.

Ack!  You guys - lol.  Every time I see an update to this thread I think "they've found a pre-order!" and I rush to see what the update is.

Then I get in and I think "no pre-order yet?!  I hate you ASUS!!  Quit playing with my emotions!"

Finally, it comes full circle after thinking about 144hz 2560 x 1440 gsync goodness and I think "I'm sorry, Asus.  I love you.  I could never hate you.  Take my money, plz!" and the vicious cycle begins anew.

Somebody halp me!!!!

I would get an IPS, but if what I'm seeing is beautiful but I'm getting input lag, deal breaker, my K/D goes down
Yeah, the input lag, low refresh rate and slow pixel response kills the IPS displays. The only andvantages they have are better viewing angles and color.

China in mid-August and North America by end of August, 2014. Prices start from US$799 and will vary by region.

I'm feeling like chopped liver here in the US...what the hell Asus? I would think the US would be they're biggest market.

It's likely a matter of shipping/customs.  It's much easier to get these released in China (where they are manufactured) and Europe (a short shipment from China) than in the US where they have to travel around the world by ship.

Asus RIVBE • i7 4930K @ 4.7ghz • 8gb Corsair Dominator Platinum 2133 C8
2xSLI EVGA GTX 770 SC • Creative X-Fi Titanium • 2x 840 SSD + 1TB Seagate Hybrid
EVGA Supernova 1300W• Asus VG278H & nVidia 3d Vision
Phanteks Enthoo Primo w/ custom watercooling:
XSPC Raystorm (cpu & gpu), XSPC Photon 170, Swiftech D5 vario
Alphacool Monsta 360mm +6x NB e-loop, XT45 360mm +6x Corsair SP120
