Hey, I think my video card is throwing the towel in the ring after the troubles it gave me.
It started with allot of weird crashes and random black screens. And now as soon as a load up a game the screen goes black. As if it can't take the load. Even if I start up firefox I get a black screen for 5 seconds. That is solved by turning off hardware acceleration.

Is this it for my card?

If you haven't already, start with the basics of reinstalling the latest drivers. Choose custom, and check the box to perform a clean install. On the hardware end, if possible try the card in another system to confirm if the issue follows the card. Beyond that you may want to try testing the card in a different PCIE slot and with a different power supply if you have those options available. This will help pinpoint the source of your issue.

Yea the basics I did yesterday. Fresh installation of the entire system. Tried stable and beta drivers. I'll try it in another system this weekend.

Update2: closed Firefox via taskmanager and temp starts dropping.
Also the GPU load was at 0% the while time, but GPU Core Clock, Memory Clock and Shader Clock were all up.. also dropped when i closed Firefox.

And turning Firefox back on makes all those values go up again..

Those temperatures are definitely high for just browsing, even with hardware acceleration enabled. You can try removing the cooler and reapplying the thermal paste to see if that changes anything. But I'd contact technical support to check your warranty status.

Having the same problem with my GTX 570HD since yesterday. Started to black screen crash during youtube and normal browsing, was working fine for 9 months. No recent hardware changes, was using the latest and second to the latest WHQL drivers. It's a RMA card so maybe it's finally failing?

Even did a fresh install of windows 8 and actually kept happening during the install and after it was done. Even black screened in memtest86.

    I submitted a support ticket.

I have an approved RMA, is it wise to send it back in the original box? Seems ideal for shipment with the foam being in the card's shape and all.
