Anyone who likes PvP shooters should go for this. It's like what Battlefield's hardcore mode should be, though without aircraft. It has perhaps the best first person shooting mechanics ever made. Those who are upset at Battlefield becoming a dumbed down console franchise should find RO2 to be a relief, and a huge upgrade.

What a coincidence!  It must really be true then.  

You should launch "Rising Storm/Red Orchestra 2 Multiplayer".  Single player is just MP matches with bots.

The issue with RO2 isn't the game marketing budget. It's due to being a slow paced ww2 game. Not that many gamers care for those type of games. They want fast paced games like CoD or BF4 Locker/Metro maps. I didn't care for how they restrict weapons in RO2 and how much of a pain it was to see the camping firing at you from over 60meters away.

There's still plenty of players in Rising Storm after events like these, probably not enough in Red Orchestra 2 though.  With Rising Storm you get full access to RO2 MP and all its servers as well as Rising Storm, basically two games in one.  There's a lot less players now than when RO2 originally launched though; since it launched right before BF3 and everyone was hungry for a PvP war game at that time.  It used to get over 6000 players easily, I think I even saw close to 10000 back then, but now I usually see 2000 and change at most.  That's plenty though, having 200,000 players instead won't make the game any better for me.  The community already has more than enough noobs who can't recognize uniforms.

I have to give that title to Natural Selection 2.  There's a number of changes I'd like to make for Rising Storm.  It's also so heavily moddable so I suppose I actually can make those changes.

Yeah that's due to the free weekend and 75% off.  In a week it will probably be back down to 2000 during the day.  I find that this is the worst time to play the game (during events like these), since the extra 8000 players or so are all too inexperienced and play the game like it's Battlefield/CoD.
