First my rig:
i7-3770K 3.5GHz (non-oc)
Gigabyte Z68X mobo
2x4GB Blue Venegence RAM
EVGA GTX 680 SC2 (OC: 1201MHz/3305MHz/1174mV) by Unigine Valley 1.0
XFX Pro 850w PSU
Win 7 (64bit) on samsung 125GB SSD, drivers and precision x wise should be all up to date since 3-4 days ago.
2 monitors (Benq XL27" 120Hz, Samsung HDTV 60Hz)

Ive used k-boost on this rig before, but mofo was z77 sabertooth but got fried coz forgot case nubs for under the mobo.....(first official build...)
so borrowed gigabyte mobo from friend and is running all games 45-60fps+ on almost ultra setting atm,
but throttling down due to bad optimization is still present so i rly wanted to use k-boost but everytime i click it, both screens go black (expected) and it wont recover after and I have to hold power to shut off rig. (cant even .bat modify without k-boosting from one of the posts here)

Nvidia control panel is max performance and CUDA-GPU(?) is on my gtx 680 sc2 card. Im still very new with computers so Im limited in wat i can do to fix this.

plz any help?

Windows 7 64bit Home Edition

EVGA GTX 680 Signature 2 (Precision X: 105% power / +52 core / +200 mem)
XFX Pro 850W PSU
Samsung 125GB SSD
Nvidia Driver 314.22
Phantom 410 (black) - Air cooling       ;)

Are you running the same copy of windows from your old board to your new board?

Go under nvidia control panel and under Manage 3D Settings find: Power Management Mode, and set it to prefer maximum performance

K-Boost seems to be hit and miss now, for some it works and for some it's completely broken. Precision needs to be updated to correct the issue.

The 337.50 Beta is the latest driver that gave me major issues with K-Boost..Had to go back to 335.23 or earlier (link)..Use a different driver and do a Custom (Advanced) clean install (link)..Uncheck all the optional driver components except for PhysX..Reboot after the driver install..But first temporarily disable your antivirus software and uninstall Precision and choose not to save settings when prompted before you perform the driver install..Then install Precision and enable antivirus and see how it works..You can add the other optional driver components later if you need/want to..A new version of Precision is due out in, hmmm, September as I recall of the top of my head (which may very well be wrong), which will hopefully fix the issue some ppl are having.

Thanks for all the replies everyone, and sry for the late reply

I bought a win7 copy with my new rig so OS wise I'm confident I installed the same copy for both mobos,

I've tried so far safe mode clean install of precision x and nvidia driver, but I also reinstalled PhysX and no luck on k-boost, and max performance seemed like no brainer while I was looking through nvidia control panel (just looked, didn't change anything other than power management)

Back in first mobo, I was just openin up to overclocking, and I'd push my 680 sc2 to 65Mhz coreoffset (~1250+) but later learn factory clocked should only be pushed by a little, and I'm wondering my overoverclocking might've cause malfunction including k-boost? But I've reached a new lower stable OC with new rig atm, no hiccups yet

Can you try using earlier drivers such as the 331 WHQL drivers?
