Hmm, I think we need an EVGA Support Group... *hugs you all*

Please stay at least 10 feet away at all times.  (Alternative: Restraining Order)

I'll gladly accept that hug. The only hugs I've ever got in my life were from my mom xD

i think there is a big difference between being alone and alone time, we are social animals that need interaction with others, but also me time is needed also.

I, personally, am very social all my life whether it be on the internet, past days of school, sports, work, etc . .

I don't have many memories of being 'left out' but recall a few moments in time.  "People will get together and hang out and leave me hanging or feeling like a fifth wheel"

Sometimes, it's a beautiful day, and I have no plans. Everyone else seems to have plans during these times.  All my friends are out having a good time. Once again, I will be feeling left out at this time!  I believe we all desire to fit in with a group of people and to be accepted.  I thrive on interaction with others.  People need people; it's the way we were made. And that's precisely why I know it hurts so much to be left out.  And yet, sometimes, it's like I’m surrounded by friends but have no friends (in my mind).   I know that no one is immune to feeling lonely, not even those who seem to be popular or happy.

When my loneliness is intense and ongoing, it can be debilitating.  If I feel(s) [lol @ sic] crushed because of being left out, what to do -- what to do?  I'll focus on my assets.  Think of some talents or positive qualities I possess.   I'll remind myself of my strengths.  It is true, I have weaknesses and should always work on these.  Still, I'll try not to become overwhelmed by my faults.  Instead, I'll view myself as a work in progress. Everything may not be in place, but some things are.  I'll focus on these!

I'll note my inner need to widen out and spread my base.  I'll take the initiative to meet people.  Granted, this may be challenging.  But if I just go up to one person and say, "hi" –  I'll suddenly feel as part of the happening surrounding group.  I'll mentally attempt to not overlook age groups and seek common ground.  I have known many great teachers, mentors, social type ppl workers who have the ability to direct in an adventurous direction at the right time.  This has always helped.  It has never hurt me to think of others and present empathy at the appropriate time.

The hardest ever changing part is to have a few true friends who cares.  But I always feel left out to a degree.  So, I will discard the negative things and strive to adopt a positive view of life.  I may not be able to control every aspect of my loneliness circumstances in my life, but I can control how I'll react to things.

When I feel left out, I'll take positive steps either to change the situation or at least to change my view of it.

Myself, I don't really like much company and finding good "trusted" friends or companions are few an far in between.  I work and the rest of my time is spent gaming and socializing on the internet and I couldn't be happier.

Nope does not connect to me. I always had a lot friends to hang out with when I was a child and young adult. But now I dont really talk to 95% of the people that I hung out with or had in my phone contacts now. Its like right after high school everyone splits and goes their own separate way in life. At least I know most of those people would of not do me any good in my life anyways. All of them but one are the average American idiot who does not care about anything other than being entertained. Lately I only been hanging out with three of my friends that I known from high school. By the way you know how I said about only one of them is not an idiot. Well that someone is a person that I still hangout with today. A matter of fact he is a member of this forum too. I am referring to Sajin. You know it man, got to give you that shout out brother! He's been my bro for 11 years now. Got to love that bromance. But other than that I do like being alone when it comes to my privacy. I am sure many of you would feel the same way about that too.

That is what forums like EVGA do,
deprive ppl of really getting to seriously intensify the reality of being lonely.

Or some say, that is what she said:

As soon as I get the Mustang up and running I'll come down. The other guys insurance accepted liability but they only offered me 3k for my car so I told them to piss off that I want at least 4.5k. I should be able to come down regardless before the 13th (when I go back to work).

P.S I'm going to burn your mustang with mine ftr :P.

Re: Being alone 2014/04/29 06:33:28 (permalink)
Grew up with plenty friends and kept a few from way back in the day. Past few years though my interaction with them has dwindled to a trickle. Kids birthdays is about it. I guess I quit drinking and was no fun anymore. Always been a gamer though, and as soon as an old friend introduced me to PC gaming I was hooked. Then I found these forums, and the "upgrade bug", and I always had someone to talk to or ask questions of. Given the fact that my old friends knew jack squat about PC's you can imagine where I have spent most of my last few years. Lonely at times? Yes...
Then again, I'm married with three kids so I'm never alone  I may be losing my mind because these kids are driving me crazy, but never alone.

Re: Being alone 2014/04/29 06:59:13 (permalink)
I have and always have limited the amount of friends I have in my immediate life to about 3-4 at most, typically people I work with or someone that shares similar interests. I don't like having a big circle of friends though, because it seems like social obligations always end up taking too much time and effort. Growing up, I was far more interested in immersing myself in a good open world RPG than hanging out with friends, not because people didn't like me, but by my own choice.

My wife is the complete opposite, she feels like she needs to have at least 10 friends at all times, who she's in contact with 24/7. She's a much more social animal than I am, and she doesn't rely on hobbies to keep her entertained, she relies on other people, whereas I could entertain myself for a week straight without ever seeing another person. She is glued to Facebook, I have an account I opened probably 8 years ago, which was also the last time I actually used it.

It makes for an interesting marriage.

Reach between your legs and do a gut check. But seriously being alone sometimes is great we all need it once in awhile, but being antisocial leads to depression and other bad things be careful! Some pull the "Drama card" too often, most here cant handle drama, let alone real life!

Direraptor22, I dont blame anyone for being antisocial/alone these days! Personally, I only keep a few close, and others can kiss my grits. The ones that dont want to take time to know you and respect you as an individual, "arent worth ur time"

No, I dont have walls around me, I gots a castle and mote!

It doesn't matter who you are, life isn't easy. There are ups and there are downs. Myself I prefer to shrug off the crap and concentrate on the things that are enjoyable to me.

I agree but sometimes life makes it that much harder to focus on the good things especially when it comes to money. I got so sick of worrying about finding a job so I bought a bike to get my mind off things.

Change of pace, how many years have you been alone? I've been alone for 25 and a half years...

Hmm I know what it feels like to be alone but the feeling of being lonely is mostly notable when so called friends are ignoring you, that is when I'd feel lonely and that is a very awkward feeling my Raptor friend, I know where ya coming from bud, like Chrome-M-Dragon said if it were not for the internet I too would be very anti social.
