Hey All,

So I am thinking of picking up a Gsync monitor when they finally start shipping again but I have noticed that you need to use the display port for this to function properly. I have NEVER used the display port at all.

Can I just purchase a generic cord? What are good brands of display port cords  ??

Thanks so much

Regards,
Andrew

A generic cord will work just fine. This is the age of digital monitor signaling so therefore cord quality doesn't matter much. Unless of course you are overclocking your monitor

I agree with posts 1&2.  I been using a DP for the last 2 years now. And to TBH I can tell the difference. on a DGM 1440p.

As a G-Sync user, I would never trade this monitor for anything. That includes 4K.

Most of nVidia's marketing for G-sync shows benefit for those that don't own the best graphics cards (or in the case of 4K displays, not being able to afford the extremely expensive), synchronizing the rendering with refresh reduces the tearing seen normally with laggy gameplay-- G-sync with components that would otherwise eliminate lag isn't necessary.

For Intel processors, 0.122 x TDP = Continuous Amps at 12v [source].

Vsync is synchronizing the GPU output with the monitor refresh. G-Sync synchronizes the monitor refresh rate with the output of the GPU. In other words, the refresh rate of the monitor varies in a 1:1 ratio with the frames being output by the GPU.
