Tough choice but I'd say a Lotus Exige would be a good way to blow 88k of it.

What's with all this "I'd pay of my debt" crap?!!? This is Amerika, we let the government take care of us, pay our bills, pay our gas, screw up our health, err I mean, pay our healthcare. Let the rich people pay off the debt - they owe us their fair share anyway.

Can't say anything within TOS other than LOL SO TRUE!!!

You can get a VERY solid used vehicle for under $15,000 if you have cash and you don't have to finance it. With cash, you have a lot more power to talk down a seller for price on a vehicle. I couldn't bring my self to drop $90,000 on a vehicle off a car lot. I would definitely find something I liked and dump a bunch of money into upgrades and put back like $5000 for a decent used economy car to get you around while you have your car in the shop. I'm curious what the insurance premiums would be on something like a Corvette Z06 and someone in their 20's... I assume it's probably the amount of some peoples car payments every month, but it doesn't go towards anything.

Really, that's living in the clouds with money that should be put into a house that is actually a investment... A car is a means of transportation, don't make it into a status symbol, it's such a waste of money.

Some of us don't want to drive 15k cars, those cars are ridiculously crappy and old. When someone considers upwards of 40k on a car, they don't look for something solid, but rather for something specific to certain features they want, speed, luxury, head turner, etc.

^ Completely agree!

Everyone, I mean EVERYONE wants a nice car. Some people just can't truly afford it. My co-worker drives a 2003 Mitsubishi and is trying hard to get a new Camaro, No one wants to drive an old beat up car, They just drive within their budget.

I agree with you, but for those that recommend, or have never paid more than 5k for a car - they need to realize some of us don't want that and that doesn't apply to us. If someone gave me 90k to buy a car, I'd have a tough time picking something but I'd probably lean towards an S5 and a house downpayment

This is a bit deviating, but you can do what you want with the left over money... I'd buy a brand new Raptor and modify it. Probably as a bug out vehicle, The rest in guns :)!

If I had debts,  I'd pay them off (Car payment, credit cards, etc).  I'd then put the rest into a down payment, with a few thousand set aside for an emergency fund.  You don't want to be without any extra cash when buying a house.

I don't think I could ever buy a $90,000 car...  I'm too cheap for that.  I've bought new cars, and to me, it feels no different than buying a used car.  A used car still exciting and new to me.  If I HAD to pick one,  I'd probably go with either an Audi A7 or S7.  They're just good looking cars.

Have fun with your Tijuana drug money!

Jaguar F Type (I'd be happy with an XF-R as well!) or the rumored new sub-100K Aston Martin Vantage.

The problem is, your given a choice between using the money towards a car or a house, not both... as stated in the original post.

This is a life changing decision for just about anyone here.. The majority of people do not have 90,000 dollars cash available, especially in their 20's. Most people have to finance for anything above 10,000 dollars. It's just plain stupid to put money towards a car over a house, unless you are in a situation where you all ready own a house or your living arrangements are handled for life.

house for sure, big down payment, or bought outright if you look carefully, with out a mortgage or a very small one you can buy the car you want.

for the car it would either be a new stingray or new z/28 with upgrades.

No debt and I have a place, so I'd buy a car and a truck and still have 8 grand for mods. ;)

In that case then a house is the obvious choice, IMO. There is a much greater chance of a return on the investment. Real estate used to be a sure bet, but not so much anymore, and another bubble is building. Cars, though, are almost always a losing bet.

Assuming one cared about the investment aspect, that is. If not, then go for what will light fires in your dreams and get the car. For me it would be a BMW M6.
