Hi I just got a new EVGA GTX 660 product number 02g-p4-3063-kr and have a ga z77 d3h mobo and having issues with getting the card to boot up ,onboard is OK, I was wondering due to other posts if I need a UEFI flash my card or any settings I need to set in my BIOS.

Thanks in advance

The pictures of the board show that it has on board video, if that is so. You need to hook up your display to the motherboard. Go into bios disable it, save shut down. Then put in the 660 power it up an it should work.

Something up thats weird, if it was me I just fresh install of windows. Then restall the drivers for the motherboard an then window updates.. after all of that crap then I would go into bios disable the motherboard video an then install the card and drivers for it..

The mobo is a dual uefi board hence the thought that the card needs flashing ?

That wouldnt do anything unless you told it to switch to another driver.. there's program on there that is stoping it from showing windows..

Try putting the card in another system and that can tell you if it is..

Just looking on the mobo website I noticed it has a dual uefi BIOS so would that indicate I need to flash my card ?

    EvilD,

Sorry to hear you are having trouble with your graphics card at the moment. Could you please provide your system's specs?
To answer your last question about UEFI, that is only for support on a Windows 8 platform particularly used to enable secure boot otherwise the dual BIOS feature is geared toward overclocking. The secondary BIOS on the card not only serves to unlock better voltage application via Precision X but also functions as a fault tolerance to revert back to the old BIOS in the case that you get an unstable overclock, bad BIOS flash or to flash with 3rd party BIOS. Also keep in mind that if you are unable to get a display at POST, doing any operating system re-installations or anything having to do with software drivers will not help resolve the issue since it is happening outside of Windows. You will want to make sure that there is activity from the fans when booting the system up this will show that there is at least power going to the card, make sure you're plugging in the 6-pin PCIe connector into the card as well preferably straight from your power supply rather than using the included adaptor.

This is simple, you need to download & flash the latest BIOS (F23b) to your motherboard, or change the PCI ROM Priority to Legacy inside the BIOS.
