I was planning on upgrading to a EVGA X79 Classified soon as my X58 Classified 3 seems to be on her way out.  4pin CPU fan power slot dead and seems if you put anything else on the jpwr ports it will crash into an endless reboot loop never making it to a post screen.

So my real question was can I use my existing Triple Channel Corsair Dominator Memory DIMMS on this board?  Manual I downloaded eludes that it may be possible but does not specifically state.

Corsair Memory specs:

cmp6gx3m3a1600c8
2048mb
1600mhz
8-8-8-24
1.65v
ver 3.1
10160288

Thanks everyone!

Should be able to work, granted not optimal for an X79, but it should function.

That's great, that way I can get up and running for now.  What would be the best way to install QUAD Channel?  Find a 4th stick to make my triple channel quad channel or buy two Dual Channel packages?  Do they even make QUAD channel packages?  Looking at Corsair site right now.

    Thanks again!

I used a Corsair triple channel set of ram from my X58 Classy with my Dark board until my quad channel kit arrived.  Worked fine.

A quad channel kit would be the best performance with the least effort and best compatibility. That said, memory with the same specs should run together in quad channel mode. It may take some tweaking of the timings and speed to get it running properly as the DIMMs are not matched, but it can be made to work in most cases. Performance should be comparable, but usually less than a matched kit. You'd only really notice a difference in benchmark scores for the most part, and maybe a few frames per second difference in games.

I agree with the others. A Quad channel kit would be the way to go.
