Can't you fit a backplate in the second card?

Looks great! Love all the red accents! How are your GPU temps with the cards being so close? More specifically, temps on the top card.

Top card is operating at 82 degrees max.

I am waiting for the backplate to come back in stock so that I can get one.

This is indeed a lovely clean build, although is the slave GTX 780 Ti going to get an EVGA GTX 780 Ti Backplate as well?
It would fit I'd presume

If you want this system to be listed in my MR +1 list whichI made for Chrome M Dragon's MODS RIGS +1 topic, feel free to post it in this topic as well
http://forums.evga.com/FindPost/1588237

That is a project I did for Chrome M Dragon himself, as he is a good friend of mine and many here and I am always on the lookout for PC's that have not been added in it
Anyways up to you of course, but one thing is for sure it will get a lot more publicity if added in that list hehe

super clean build, love the component choices. will be doing a maximus vi impact build in a corsair 250d, although a bit lower end (single gtx 760, i5 4670k, among other things) hopefully later this week if everything shows up - so far only the case has any tracking listed, it's scheduled for thursday. the red and black theme just really stands out in these cases to me, especially with those corsair fans. awesome!

Re: New 350D build dual 780Ti's! 2014/04/15 08:04:19 (permalink)
Hey guys! I have some updates for you. I got rid of the H110 cooler and side graded... for aesthetic purposes to the H105. It was a bit difficult to fit. Corsair IMO did not design the H105 to fit well in most of their cases. I had to slot the radiator closer to one side of the case for clearance.

I have also added an ASUS Xonar Essense STX to drive my set of Sennheiser G4ME Zeros i purchased.

Now this was tricky. since the clearance wasn't enough for the card to obviously plug into the board. I had to buy a PCIe 1x riser to fit the card. It was one helluva fit, but it works.

top card idles at 35. bottom card idles at 31 degrees celcius respectively.

Also in the picture you will see 32GB of RAM, and both cards now have their respective backplate. Enjoy!

Upclose shot of the backplate

Sorry for the crap phone pic. You will see the H105 cooler here, and the 3 way Sli bridge. (Which I had to modify)

A shot of the brothers with its new little sis hanging out in the bottom.

Thanks again!

Re: New 350D build dual 780Ti's! 2014/04/15 22:34:10 (permalink)
Amazing build! I would sincerely appreciate your help as I am agonizing over whether to build the same SLI system (except with dual EVGA GTX 780s) in a 350D case like yours, or in the new Obsidian 450D case. I am concerned about heat, but also noise/sound levels as it will also be sitting on my desk and used in several different roles . . . as a heavy duty work station (remaining on all day and sometimes several days at a time), flight simulator and HD video editing system . . . running 2-3 monitors.

Given your experience with the 350D case, which case would you recommend for the above purposes, the 350D/micro-ATX board or 450D/ATX board? (If you were purchasing a case now with the 450D case available given it is aprox. 2" taller and deeper and has grill front plate--which would you choose?).

Thank you!!

What riser did you use and how did you use it, I'm building an almost identical build.

You can get a PCI-E x1 riser cable (similar to what I got in picture) for $12 at Ebay.

It all depends on how meticulous are you with cable management & if you're going on a full water cooling set up. With 350D it's very hard to work around with very limited space & get the desired look that you want with less mess. If you're water cooling then go with 450D. If not, then go with 350D as long as it's OK for you to have (2) video cards close to each other with no space in between for air to circulate.

Thanks Cheaptrick!

Plan to water cool the CPU the rest air cool. I am still wrestling with this decision leaning one way one moment and the other the next. Because it will sit on my workstation desk where I have lots of papers and files making space a premium, the 350D's smaller footprint is desirable. However, neither are exactly a small case like say the Silverstone Micro-ATX. I then wonder if, the extra 2" in length and height of the 450D makes much of a footprint difference . . . and if it creates a cooler case and therefore potentially quieter case bkz fans don't work so hard, would the 450D then be a better case for my purposes. It would be so much easier if I could see them in person.

Thanks again!

Re: New 350D build dual 780Ti's! 2014/04/22 15:29:18 (permalink)
The 450D is in between 350D & 750D. It seems to have the right size without you having to do a lot of modding to fit everything without going gigantic (like the 900D  or CM Cosmos) with your build. The 350D seems small if you're going discrete on some of your components. Unless you're going integrated (WiFi card, sound card) then you need to mod a little with the 350D to fit everything (adding a riser cable for example). But if small footprint matters a lot & you have the time to mod a as well as patience to work around with cable management & not water cooling your video cards then the 350D is perfect for you. What I like about the 350D is that despite its small size I still can fully water cool my CPU & video cards. I also don't need more than (2) video cards. I don't do Hollywood style video editing (like most people here) nor work for NASA. The most I did with videos were trimming & converting my Blu-ray movies for transcoding & video streaming on my Synology NAS at home. I also run a website, TS server as well an an Echolink repeater link for Ham radio at home but none of this things require me to have a super computer. I still can play my games with one or two video cards. I also want to cut some of my electric bills. If what you're planning is building a true power pissing computer with enough space to put a lot of stuff then go with the 450D.

Thanks Cheaptrick--I really appreciate your help and insight!

I saw the pictures of your system--very nice!! In addition to everything else you did, the bay mod for your blu-ray burner is very impressive . . . how is that working for you . . . how'd you do that?

Sounds like you are very happy with your 350D case, but if I could ask you . . . knowing what you know now about the 350D case, if the 450D had been available at the same time, which case would you now choose . . . the 350D or 450D?

It appears you have a fully liquid cooled system, but if you had only liquid cooled your CPU, would you anticipate any heat issues? (I ask only because some of the test reviews I have read show some rather high temps, especially for the GPU).

Thanks very much!
