You may as well ask about having sex with Olivia Wilde or Oprah Winfrey - EVGA all the way.  And by the way it's not just the Newegg Reviews on Asus customer support, there are hysterical reviews all over the Net.

Pretty funny going by Newegg reviews considering evga had there's wiped for the first two years of their x79's, lol. Seriously.

Regardless Asus Customer Support is nowhere near EVGA's - /Thread.

Anyone who payed attention to the x79 mobos at the time (and especially EVGA) knows that the reviews where whipped clean by various methods (name change, discontinued, etc).

Yes but the reviews stay up in discontinued products. I've been searching and there are no links at all between evga and the new egg reviews being censored.

Newegg did 'delete' (not censored) a crap load of the EVGA X79 MB reviews, that's not to say EVGA had anything to do with it.
More like Newegg still had a load of stock they needed to move and the neg reviews were not helping sales.

I think it's pointless to accuse a company of doing something shaddy like erase reviews.   I don't take much from newegg reviews anyway.    If you are look at the current newegg reviews between the EVGA X79 Dark and Asus Rampage IV Black Edition...  it's pretty equal between the 2 mobo's as of today:

RIV Black Edition
5 eggs - 59% (41)
4 eggs - 13% (9)
3 eggs - 9%  (6)
2 eggs - 6%  (4)
1 egg  - 14% (10)

EVGA X79 Dark
5 eggs - 53% (17)
4 eggs - 19% (6)
3 eggs - 3%  (1)
2 eggs - 3%  (1)
1 egg  - 22% (7)

However, it only shows that 70 reviews for the RIVBE and 32 reviews on the X79 Dark.   I am pretty sure ASUS and EVGA sold a lot more motherboards than that.   Most owners who are happy with the product will not post a review... so I presume there are a lot of happy owners of both boards.   Like I said on all my previous posts... I bought both boards... and IMO, you can't go wrong with either.   I went with one brand because of features and it's a rock solid... stable... and it does what I want it to do.   One thing I can't argue on is ASUS's customer service based on Newegg reviews and what I've read on forums.   If you want great customer service... EVGA is the company to go with.     In a way... I'm glad Asus has bad customer service so I don't have use customer service as my excuse to like it.   I like EVGA products... and the X79 Dark is a great board...  but I'm really happy with my RIVBE.  No regrets for making the switch.

No Doubt EVGA customer support is great...but like you, I just wanted the better board, and since I had the money, I got myself the RIVBE which has to be the best 2011 socket board out, and cannot be happier.

Dude .... Newegg deleted reviews on the X79 Classified/FTW and the SLI ..... NOT the X79 Dark.
It is not an accusation ... It is a FACT ... it happened.

I didn't say it wasn't a fact.   I've actually seen missing review(s) on the X79 Dark a few days before purchasing it.   I was checking to see if there were anymore good reviews so I can pull the trigger... and the review(s) I read the previous day were gone.   What was weird is the reviews that were viewable didn't match the "All Reviews" counts for a while.   I didn't want to bring this up now... but I'm just agreeing that I've seen it... but for me, it isn't worth the effort to bring it up when I can't prove it.    Another thing I agree with you on is...  we don't know who (Newegg, EVGA, ?) or what the reasons were for the missing reviews.   Another reason why I think it's pointless to bring it up.

Nope, had my 4930K@ 4,2 GHz with 1,250 V Vcore, 1,18 V VTT, 1,18 V VCCSA, 80% Loadline Calibration and it won´t be stable at all on the X79Dark.
On my RIVBE the same 4930K @4,2 1,230 V Vcore, 1,10 VTT, 0,98 V VCCSA, 50% Loadline Calibration and it is rockstable.

Oh no... you didn't just go there with a real life comparison from owning both boards??? LOL..   I  didn't even go there.  I can't even get same results on my RIVBE from one BIOS to the next... so I can't see how both boards as equal with the same chip.  Maybe the same clock speed, but most likely... not the same voltage settings.  I had to tweak my OC settings after upgrading from BIOS 0403 to 0507.  0602 BIOS has been pretty stable for me at  4.5 GHz with + Offset at .005v, LLC @ 50%, VCCSA 1.0v, VTT 1.05v.  Vcore is at 1.296 @ 4.5 Ghz at load.  I know I could lower my vcore on manual settings... but at least it isn't fixed voltage.   It drops down to .0864v @ 1.2 ~ 1.3 Ghz at idle or when I'm just browsing.  Much nicer on the electric bill.   Offset voltage was a feature I was going to miss when I bought the X79 Dark, but was happy to read that EVGA added the feature for owners recently.

I have both boards and have used both boards in client builds in my testing I was always able to achieve 5GHz on the same exact settings.  Plus 6ghz under LN2.  I guess it must be different ways of overclocking or something I don't know.  Besides when you purchase an ASus especially ROG you purchase a Mainstream board with extra BIOS features.  Just saying that they are equal boards and for less you will have better customer support.

Looks like you have the magic touch.   No arguments from me.   I've been in agreement on all my post that you can't go wrong with EVGA and great customer support.   That's the reason why I will still continue to shop EVGA products.    Yah, I turned to the dark ROG side this time, but as for a future EVGA board, I will have an open mind.

I have to admit I am personally looking to switch to the X79 Black Edition for Aesthetic purposes and the EK waterblock for the Full Board.

I also mentioned in my previous posts that the down side of owning an RIVBE is all the sexy EK waterblocks they are making for this board...  especially that new EK full waterblock.  LOL...

The only reason why I didn't buy the VRM/Chipset block was because I wanted a clean look with my acrylic tubing... but the new EC Full waterblock doesn't require any extra fittings... so I can basically keep my current tubing without bending additional tubing.   I'm planning to tear down my loop in few months for maintenance... so I'm getting really tempted on purchasing it when it comes out.

I love EVGA GPU's and customer support is pretty good. Definitely better than other OEM especially as a end user user.  I have a issue still not cleared up but I've given up with EVGA sales..

That being said performance on all these board are about the same it boils down to features you want/need and looks... Honestly thats about it...  For me it is used for gaming, photo editing and enjoyment of asthetics so for me the choice was the RIVBE. The sound card is very good compared to any other onboard sound, the bios features for SSD's is great (secure erase properly to re-gain performance) and the oc panel is nice added bonus.

Look I just took my Asus X79 IV Formula Board out which was very easy to overclock because they have very helpful people in the forums, plus a real book comes with the board and a fold out too. But the cool thing is they have a video that shows step by step what each item in the bios does and the bios isn't limited like the EVGA bios. Then there are guys that don't call you name s when you ask for help they actually have information and they will ask you what you have and what you are trying to do and help you get where you are going and explain why and what you are doing. They have the good old quick and dirty here is how you get to 4.6 like Jacob once did. The whole thing I see is this Both Dark Boards are great boards it is the Bios that limits them. Asus has done a far better job than 23 selections that EVGA gives you and with no real explanation and you really don't have a choice on a few. If you go to the ASUS website and visit the forum for the Dark if you can't find it ask Arne he will help you.

My SIG need to be changed as I have just gotten this Dark Board up and running, but I have to find my old stuff I used when I overclocked the P67 since the X79 Classified was a disaster.

If I could go all American I would!
