Yes, you will need to start your own help thread in the 700 series section.

Why is step-up STILL not offered to AU? It's not like we're living in the early 2000's anymore, plenty of companies offer direct sales here so why hasn't EVGA caught up.

I joined up to say,  this...this so much. I was just about to purchase a EVGA 780 but if there's no step up for the rest of the world outside the US, I might just wait. Even though it's killing me.

Ok, so I am hoping a few of you have noticed the new products on the EVGA website(6 GB reference w/ ACX cooler and 6 GB SC w/ ACX cooler).  So, now that they have officially announced that the SC model will be available, will it be worth "sidegrading" to the 6 GB SC from the 3 GB classified model if I plan on running 2 cards in SLI with 1440P setup for some games and a triple monitor set up for other games?  The only differences I can notice are texture fill rate drops from 190 to 180 and the core clock drops by 26 Mhz.  And if my expectations are correct when I run SLI mode with dual SC 6 GB cards it should blow a single classified 3 GB away?  Am I correct?

Is there a reference cooler design available for the 6gb version?
I only see ACX versions.

I only see ACX too. Both style coolers should be available IMO. 3 & 4-way SLI with ACX is no good.

So are they coming out with a 780ti 6GB or is that just the Titan Black 6GB? I skimmed through this thread and saw 780ti 6GB mentioned a few times. I thought it would just be 780 6GB and Titan Black (since the Titan Black is basically a 780ti if you compare cuda cores)

This might be a stupid question, but I'm going to ask anyway. I just purchased a gtx 760 FTW. Would I be able to step up from this card? If not I am just going to return it and wait. I was already planning on returning it and getting the gtx 780, but now I might just be able to keep this one and use the step up program. Thanks!

Does this update also relates to the Hydro series? Just - and I mean just purchased the 780 hydro 3 gb - and was going to buy one more for sli. Now I will wait until Hydro is available in 6 GB- as I believe that performance of 6 gb is double the 3 gb? I also believe that a 3 gb wont do sli with a 6 gb?

If you bought them from participating vendors/etailers/retailers and you have the receipts for both you can step-up both cards.

I was told by Jacob that there are no plans to release a HC version at this time. That doesn't mean it will never happen, but for now, no plans.

No, the performance is not doubled (a common misconception by many). You would likely see no perceptible difference, unless gaming at very high resolutions, and even then...or doing some Graphics work that specifically uses that RAM.

A 6 SLI'd with a 3 will only utilize 3, so no.

Example I didn't upload invoice for my cards, and I didn't ask games because of that.
Because when I bought something they send my only card.
OK I have all money transfers for my card from pay pal, Invoice order, I can see exactly price how much guy who bought pay
and tracking but that's on other address in Germany because than can bring me hardware as gift and I don't need to pay custom tax and
I get only hardware in closed sealed box. Never mind, it's not important for games.
But believe me I look on games only as some little plus for me is important only hardware and I'm satisfied with that.

hey, yesterday i saw there is a step up program that i did not know before.
so i started getting info and i want to step up my gtx 780 ti dual classy acx.
so i logged in and saw it is within 90 days after purchase.
i got my card in 14-1-2014 is there any chance for me to get the option for step up?
i feel very sad atm becouse its only 6 days too late. i did not know this i did not get an email for
step up, i saw it yesterday for first time on ocn (i am also new there)(haven't made an account, but i will do)
if i knew this i did it immediately after registering my card on evga. i played crysis 3 maxed and got 2700 from 3000 memory in use so 6gb is better.
i hope i can still do this.
o and the step up signup bar is red with this text  Thank you! You are now on the notification list.
i am on the list but in my account i see ...
This product is not available for Step-Up. Please read the terms and conditions of our Step-Up program.
:( omg that 6 days....

Your card isn't available for step-up form Day one.. That 6 days, or the 90 prior, do nothing for the card you have.

The step-up program seems too confusing for me. i was interested in buying from evga this time. but i might end up going for another brand now. the more i look at the step up program the more i feel ill never use it, work out how to use it or miss out of using it. its a nice idea but no cigar.

but that extra warranty is nice :d i wish i had paypal then i bought 7 more years.
and if i am not wrong... its this
  • The product must be returned to EVGA in the original factory configuration and condition. All aftermarket modification must be reversed before sending in the product for replacement.
they give some extra option that other brands dont do
look warranty terms :) normal if you changed something you avoid warranty :)

How much does the extra 7 years warranty cost though? If ur spending 900 pounds plus on a titan black etc it should be a lifetime warranty as standard imo. Their warranty options are gd i guess but they cost a lot no? Im in uk so i guess its different here.

Re: EVGA GTX 780 6GB Step-Up 2014/04/21 06:44:42 (permalink)
The 7 Year Extended warranty allows step up from a lower Model (760-770 any version) to a higher Model like a 780 (REFERENCE PCB). This does not allow for step up to a Classified, or from a Classified to a higher Classified.  You may NEVER use the option to step-up, but name another company that lets you beat the poo out of your hardware, and then send it back for the exact same price you paid, to pay the difference for something better?  Think about that..  You may buy from someone else, but if you aren't fully satisfied, and want more, you pay out of pocket and HOPE that you can get away with losing 10%  of your hard earned money, while EVGA sits back nicely saying, "We offer step up for Reference PCBs, and "They" Don't"

Something to think about.

Is the extended warranty worth it?  Yeah.  I bought it because I paid for the Expensive card, and I wanted to guarantee it is protected.. Once again, find another company that offers that direct.  I don't mean New Egg or Amazon.. I mean the company, NO MIDDLE MAN.

Agree Scarlet.  EVGA makes incredible cards.  I love my GTX 780 Classified and qualify for step up but decided it's not worth giving up my Classified model.  And nobody in their right mind would want to step down to a GTX 780 SC from a GTX 780ti even if it was going to a 6 GB card, unless you mistakenly bought the GTX 780ti anyway.

Hi,

It seems that you have already signed up for your Step-Up.  You should be good to go.  Please let me know any questions or concerns.

Thanks,
Rob
