So are you saying you are impressed or your silence is wondering what the time and money has created so far?

Anyone who actually follows this game knew what to expect; a buggy unstable mess.  They only started testing in-house a few weeks ago, but made the PAX commitment months ago so they had to demo what little product they have.

I'd expect them to be further along with over two years in development, multiple studios, and $42mil.

Then again I knew there were bad things happening when they showed the build-up video of just STARTING to work on the flight module five days before Pax East. So five days of really hard work and two years of watching the money flow in. This paired with the very nice furnishings at their studio in Santa Monica, with those expensive detailed models which I'm sure were a few thousand a piece...

Well it just reminds me of someone...

Sounds like yet another reason as to why people have been lately distrusting the crowdfunding\kickstarter stuff. It's also why I'd never fund these kinds of projects.

You're manufacturing melodrama.  Case in point: the game started development in Nov 2012, 16 months ago... hardly even close to 2 years.  You're also off your rocker if you think people pouring money into the game faster than they can hire people is grounds for criticism.  The money they've made is only relevant to the end product.

Why are you hoping to see this game fail exactly?  Seeing a studio cut out the corporate middle man and still produce a AAA quality title should be celebrated.  And again, if you actually follow the development you'd know there is absolutely zero worry we won't see the game we were promised.

Just don't forget the tin-foil hat next time you want to cry scam.

^^^ Development has been 16 months? How do you figure?

That's the equivalent of saying that football begins in Sept/Oct., (speaking in collegiate terms), when in fact spring practice and games have already been conducted for the 2015 season; national signing day was held as well. There will also be six to eight weeks of preparation before the kick-off classic. My point... simple... planning, design, and conceptualization began two years ago, if not more. I would even guess that he started reaching out to his core staff, and making contact with those outsource companies well in advance. i.e. Their website even has articles that are 2yrs old... and I'm certain (or I would hope) that he didn't have the website up on day one, along with that snazzy little video of his --"I'm not dead".

In summary, Chris Roberts has no clue how to lead a development team, and thus the reason why (in some cases) a big corporation is necessary to "drive" the development team in the appropriate direction so they don't stew in their own fecal matter. The other point I made above was that most of the development happened within the last 6 days before PAX East. So again for your edification, four studios, $42mil, 2+ years, a snazzy video, many movie studio quality models later... and you've got a space ship hangar simulation.

Take a look again at 1) what you wrote, and 2) the 6 day vid of the team scrambling to get ready for PAX East. *You don't tell a development team a few months in advance that they're going to a huge gaming convention so "let's get crackin' " another poor leadership sign.

*Salting the mine for ya buddy... wanna buy?

Edit:  Nevermind, I don't want to get into a pissing match.  All I'll say is I have faith in the project, and if you don't that's fine but no one is forcing the money from your wallet.

Never mind... I won't be dragged further into this.

I gave em a minimal contribution and if it ends up being disappointing, I'm not out much.

I'll trust developers to know how to do their jobs. Most major publishers are content to just rush things out the door and patch later after all.

I am all in for Star Citizen!! I am hoping/pretty confident the game will be fun and the idea behind it is great. It will be a journey and I am glad to be part of it. I was expecting the reveal to be glitchy. How can anyone be disappointed at a guy who truly wants to build "the best damn space sim ever made"???? It's not about the company making $$$, its about building something that people will enjoy, including the people that make it.

I have to agree with MrCrow though, They have not had 42 million since the beginning. I don't even think CR even knew this lvl of funding was possible from the community. I joined up last spring/summer and I think they were only at 12 million. The snowball is gaining momentum though :). Having Faith in people is sometimes a good thing.
