I feel this warrants a thread. As many of us like myself have paid nearly 3k for parts, only to find out that what we purchased is no different than an ACX.

I have experience with Classifieds, as I own a 780 Classy that overvolts just fine with the tool and with EVbot.

However, the 780 Ti Classifieds that I purchased. ALL 3 of them, crash when overvolted at all, with either EVBot or the Software OV tool.

The ONLY way it remains stable is to treat it as you would an ACX, and ONLY use Precision to overvolt up to the 1.212v limit. This is NOT what most of us purchased the card for. Many of us already have waterblocks on the way.

I have tried other BIOS', only to be let down.

This seems to either be a Precision issue, or something that EVGA can perhaps fix with a BIOS update.

Either way, it does NOT work in its current form.

I am not the only person that is having this issue. My friends over at OCN are having this issue as well.

Not ONE of us has been able to overvolt past 1.212v and not BSOD, even when running at stock clocks.

I sincerely hope this is fixed, or can be fixed for that matter. I really would rather not return my cards, or downgrade to 780 Classifieds just to retain the tweaking features that I know and love.

Regards

Thats not good. My cards arrive on Monday. Maybe I will keep them in the box for return if this is a larger issue. Hopefully we can get some info soon.

The problem is with EVGA Precision. I just tested it with Afterburner and was able to overvolt until I hit the max of 95C using Skyn3t's BIOS. I'm on air until Monday, so I can't do any more than that, but I got up to around 1.33v and up to 151% TDP on skyn3t's BIOS, but hit 95C in Firestrike windowed mode, and had to stop.

That's good news I guess. EVGA just needs to fix Precision, and we should be ok.

I'm still getting BSOD's that repeat over and over like others however. I never got this with my Reference 780 Ti's nor my 780 Classy.

I'm really confused by this. I really hope EVGA looks into this.

Looks like I'll be doing the same as mine also arrive on Monday. Hopefully Jacob can chime in here.

Well if it doesn't work with EVBOT then it isn't just Precision that needs to be fixed.

it doesn't work with precision or afterburner.  anything above 1.212v using evbot or aoftware causes bsod's.

I have the same issue with my 780 ti classy. Enabling k-Boost is automatic crash. I also have trouble keeping my volts and clock speeds from jumping up and down when stress testing.

Same issue here with my 780Ti Classified.

I cant go a lick over 45Mhz on the GPU clock and like 200 on the memory clock before my computer basically starts crashing. I tried voltages from 18Mv to 50Mv and 110% power and gain nothing.

I have to say i am upset at the moment because i complained about the stock clocks and the response i got from Jacob was....

" The cards will be able to overclock much higher manually of course, but we have to set a minimum there. "

Well.. I dont see it.. I paid a lot of money for this card with the hopes that what Jacob said was true but I dont see it right now......

You would have thought they tested these cards before shipping. Maybe a new BIOS can fix 'em. The cards are pointless if they are stuck at vanilla voltage.

I kinda regret selling my 780 classy now. I'm also having the same exact issue. I'm getting constant hardlocks with anything over +140 core.
If anything, it should just down clock not hardlock. Never had this issue with two 780 classy's

I just called for a RMA but since I posted this morning the problem has gotten worse. Stress testing with precision x I can't get it to go past the "boost clock" of 1085 MHz. Where as when I first got it the card would automatically go to 1150mhz at 1.2v by itself.

doubt you can RMA cause you cant overclock lol its not the way things work .The cards are warrantied to clock and run at "advertised"speeds, nothing more.the ability to OC is luck of the draw and subject to set specs by Nvidia .Doubt it? try calling EVGA and asking for a RMA because it will not Overclock lol

I did just RMA it. And it wasn't because I couldn't overclock the card. It was because the card failed to perform to the "boost clock"of 1085.

This card is confusing. I just did a run of 3dmark11 and it ran fine when I ran everything stock. But it doesn't like the stress test from evga... I guess I'll have to start messing overclock with a different stress test program.

^^^ How high are you guys trying to OC these Cards...just curious??
My 780Ti SC reference Cards reach +155 Core n +300 Memory with just the available +75mv & 106% Power Target ......for 24/7 gaming I run +120 Core / +200 Memory and NO added voltage......boosts to 1228....odd, I'd think these Cards would get you to a Boost of 1300 Mhz without too much trouble.

How was this issue not found before the release of the cards?  Seems like they had to of seen this issue before hand.

We have found the root cause and this will be fixed via official update this week (hopefully Tomorrow)

Sorry to re-open this but I still cannot over-volt my 780 Ti using Precision- K-boost works fine, as in it locks it @ boost speed but doesn't crash and I've never had any problems with this card as far as BSODz go, @stock this card boosts to 1149.7, basically 1150 without overvolting. I'd really like to push this card, just one time - haven't tried AB yet, sorta CBF, as I wanted an EVGA utility that would work for my EVGA card...Any 'elp would be paid for...just kidding ;) but I wud be gr8ful...
