    Re:EVGA X79 Motherboards - BIOS 034 BETA Released 2012/02/16 17:35:00 (permalink)
This BIOS adds a new feature for VDroop, it is adjustable VDroop control.

Below is an image, the details are as follows:
    • Intel SPEC = Standard VDroop Setting / VDroop On
    • 75% = Closest setting to Intel SPEC
    • 50% = Middle Setting
    • 25% = Closest setting to Disabled
    • Disabled = VDroop is Disabled
This feature is helpful if VDroop disabled is overcompensating when the CPU is under load. EX: CPU Voltage increasing under load. Fine tuning this setting can help improve overclock stability and CPU temperature.

This is a good solution to the Vdroop disabled/restart... props for turning it into a better feature!

It is possible that it may become final at a later time, right now it is going through our QA testing, but this takes a few days so we wanted to get this posted ASAP since C2 CPU's are shipping now.

    @Jacobf & Seinron;

I'll have my CPU and M/b this thursday and will report back with any issues or not. Havn't seen anyone else say they bought a 3820 and havn't seen anything on any other fourms yet.

I've got an i7 3820 working with a new BIOs chip provided by EVGA Europe. However after trying to flash to 34 it didn't seem to work. I think it still says 29 in the BIOs.

OK, so I set up my system and I got the same thing.. Turn the power on and FF in the window. I reseated the CPU/RAM, (I also used my corsair dom that are in my X58 System) power connections, pulled all SATA devices and USB devices. And still just FF in the window. Cleared CMOS and tried all 3 bios's. Power supply is good it's powering my X58 right now. Bad motherboard or the bios dosn't support the CPU? 3820 I don't have a 3930k to test the M/b with. Not feeling to good right now... and not happy...

EDIT: I don't know what BIOS ver I'm running either as the system won't post...
Addition: motherboard is out of case...Cpu reseated, 1 stick of ram, vcard. Just a FF upon turning power on...

    Re:EVGA X79 Motherboards - BIOS 034 BETA Released 2012/03/06 15:24:33 (permalink)
This is my 1st test, only two hour with this board:

Test Corsair Vengeance 2133MHz 16GB on 3930K C2 liquid cooling with boot strap 125MHz, this is no limit of my CPU, RAM or mainboard.

    Bug in Bios 034:

    Vcore line gives:

in Bios 1,300V, Vdroop Intel spec, give 1,269V at full load

in Bios 1,300V, Vdroop 75%, give 1,290V at full load

in Bios 1,300V, Vdroop 50%, give 1,312V at full load

in Bios 1,300V, Vdroop 25%, give 1,330V at full load

Strap 125MHz at 126MHz disable lan, USB 3.0

If you setting the Strap 125MHz at 1st time the board reproduce FC error, you turn off the mainboard ad second time this booting.

Insert in bios the memory multiplier x24 for high frequency RAM.

    Regards

I have one PC based on EVGA X79 Classified BIOS 034 Beta and one Intel Core i7 3960X C1. I obtained 4,6 GHz RS 15 Linx test at 1,423 VCore full load (1,5 VCore in the bios, with VDrop Intel Spec.). What's the right way to decrease the VCore (and the temperature), with the same stability? CPU PLL? VCCSA? VCCIO?
Is it possible or by the moment not? Actually for dayly useI I put  the same configuration but multiplier 44*100 4,4 GHz 1,34 VCore VDrop Intel Spec RS. Thank-You in advance

Hey jacob maybe you should take testing to a big scale cause it seems that the problem is very limited but none the less it still exsists in full. try out a hundred of each of the sli, ftw, and classy's. first get a chip that you know for sure doesn't seem to get picked up in bios and use one that does then you may be able to reproduce the problemand see if you can find problem.....cause like i said we all know your systems work and why wouldn't they your The EVGA crew you gear has to work you built it.....

I just tested a retail 3820, with the latest BIOS I cannot reproduce any issues.
