On EVGA.com, set yourself up for Auto-Notify, but don't put your email, put your cell phone numbers 'Email to SMS' address
So for instance, t-mobile would be [insert 10-digit number]@tmomail.net
http://www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/how-to-send-e-mail-to-sms-text/Text messages are reliable and will always give you a notification when they come in :) Much better than having to check an email all day.
Now for the website "
https://www.nowinstock.net/" you will want to create a custom account.
After that, make a custom list like this:

My custom list was setup to only report EVGA as well as exclude Founders Edition, and non-US sites.
NowInStock will send you text messages directly, opt for that here too.
Turn your phone notification for text messages up loud, put something obnoxious. Plug your phone into speakers if necessary.
Final step, try to preload all your payment methods, billing, and shipping info, on all the possible sites you may order from so you can order quickly.
I left tabs open in my browser for my NowInStock list and EVGA's 1080 product page, to save a few seconds :)
Today when I ordered, I received both notifications from EVGA and from NowInStock for multiple cards.
Despite getting my card on NewEgg, I recieved no notification from NewEgg, even though I set up Auto Notify.
I'm not sure if NewEgg's notification is reliable, but you can fill it out for good measure as well.
NowInStock gave me two false alarms, but in the end it helped me get the card.
The beautiful thing is, I was sleeping when the phone started pinging, so I didn't have to even be awake refreshing a page all day, and neither do you.

One other thing to keep in mind, if you miss the notification from EVGA, you MUST set up a new notification. It will not continue to send you messages after the first notification.
Great point. I believe NewEgg does the same as well.
