Ok I made the leap and bought Far Cry 4 but after install it will not start. It continues to crash.

I have already:
Installed the latest drivers
Done a repair install
Installed Directx from folder in game

All it does it goes through the link to cloud then the "Far Cry 4" start screen flashes on the monitor then BAM crashes.
Any ideas?

Sounds like your system may be unstable. Time reset all hardware back to stock clocks and retest.

Inside event viewer expand windows logs and select application. You should find the log there if one was created.

I too had this issue when i first loaded up FC4. It turned out that my HD that i installed it in was crapping out. I swapped it out with a new one and it starts fine now. Not sure if thats the problem ur having. Try installing FC4 on a different HD or SSD and give it a try.

I dont have an issue starting up any other game. Or any other program for that matter.

Ok I tried the above and still not working. It is always exciting to buy a game that doesn't want to work. LOL

Windows 8.1 troubleshooter says that it is incompatible. I tried to run it in a comparability mode like Win 7 and still nothing.

Try running your hardware at default clocks real quick to see if it makes a difference. You could also try performing a clean boot of windows to see if it helps.
