I just installed Fallout New Vegas.

That's a fun game also but not the same as FO 3. Couldn't quite finish it but will have to at some point.

I played that Demo a long time ago but could never get used to that third-person view.

Eh?

FO:NV has first person just like FO3 and FO4.

I personally think that New Vegas is the best of the bunch.

Same here, except that it still uses DX9. I know it's my opinion and all, but DX9 is a thing in the past. It needs to go, and never come back. Sadly, it's one reason why I will not install New Vegas again. Now, if Obsidian remakes Fallout 4 with DX11 or 12, you know I will get it in a hart beat. However, if Obsidian makes a new one only having DX9, I will pass. Call me weird, but I have my reasons to protest against DX9. DX9 was out 15 years. Please go already.

That is something I did not know. I didn't know that about Fallout 3 being First-person either until someone told me how to change it.

Diet? No problem. There's a product called Lean Ghoul Cuisine. Probably located in the freezer section close to the Cram section.

I'm at level 86 and have played 718 hours. I still have to complete the main quest. I'm having a lot of fun taking my time and searching. Too much to do before I complete the main quest.

Yeah, 652 Mb. I just HAD to open Steam because you HAD to say something. This is all your fault.

Yes.  That did not please me last night.

Went to start up the game and got hit with a download.   Since I have a couple of mods that are tied to the version of the game, that rendered the mods broken until they can also get updated.  That takes a day or two.  Granted, I can simply disable the mods until they get updated and continue playing without them.

I didn't play yet. Soon I hope just to try my new Torq X10 Carbon mouse. I only have 3 mods installed. Nothing major so IDK if it'll mess up anything for me.

Re: Fallout 4 2016/08/13 10:57:15 (permalink)
Highly unlikely.

It's only the mods that use the Fallout 4 script extender that get crunched during the update.  F4SE is version dependent as it has to be tweaked for every update change.  So the mods dependent on F4SE can get broken.

Well, I got one mod for the Mini Nuke MiniGun. Another one that adds two quests and rewards you with a Rogunz pistol. Pretty sure I had three but I can't remember what it is called or what it is for. Sorry.

You can't remember?  That's unforgivable!

Assuming that you got them off of Beth.net?  I doubt you need to worry unless they do a major, major update that virtually rewrites everything.

And a mini nuke minigun.  That still has me shaking my head.  I build an incendiary M60 the other night and then shelved it because I thought it was too much.   Well okay, it wasn't too overkill.  The accuracy sucked and the barrel climb on it was horrible.

I finished the USS Constitution quest. Yes you can board it again. It will show up on your Pip Boy as undiscovered.
Also, do not use the exploding shot gun as this will more than likely hit a friendly and that WILL set them in attack mode against you. Save before you get into the final mission.

Yep, that Exploding Combat Shotgun got me in trouble with my settlers more than once, may they rest in peace. I would like to see another Constitution quest just to help it get closer to the Sea even if it never reaches it. This Torq X10 Carbon isn't too shabby. I like it but the buttons seem to be too stiff at times. 24 hours without a cigg!!! yay!

I wouldn't mind another Constitution quest either. Especially if they're like the end battle. Lots of loot after that.

New hardware is generally stiff until broke in.

I don't remember much about the loot. I was walking towards the Constitution when the Raiders attacked me so I pretty much got rid of most of them before the battle though a few got into the holes in the hull. Did I post my video of it taking off and crashing into the next building? I can't remember.

You did post the video.

When I went to the Constitution after it crashed I couldn't find Ironside. Very few of the crew were left also.

I mentioned earlier that there was a download and a few of you mentioned the size of it. I played right after the download was complete and noticed that it took a few extra shots with the exploding combat shotgun compared to before. Today I was playing and after about an hour the performance was horrible. Delayed response best describes it. It was so bad that I saved and shut the game and Steam down.

Anyone else seeing performance issues AFTER the latest download?

I still haven't played yet. I am really wanting a cigg and the store is right down the street. I am trying to ride it out but my resolve is slipping in a hurry. I spent 3 days getting downloads for my other PC and after shutting down it installed updates but at reboot it hung at 0% for 15 minutes. Now I've been waiting 15 minutes waiting for it to 'Revert' the changes it made.

I haven't noticed any performance hits.    Granted I have random crashes, but thats due to one of my mods not playing nice and I can't figure out which one.

Hang in there Zuhl. I know what it is like as I have been there. For me, it was the first 3-4 days and then I didn't crave them like I did before. Then that battle became a lot easier to beat. You start to lose that after meal craving and that during coffee time. And when you wake up in the morning that crave is also a lot weaker. They are manageable and beatable. Stick to your guns.

When you get the chance to play FO 4 take note regarding the performance. There were a lot of complaints about this download and the performance issue was one of them.
