I'd just like to post some findings about Far Cry and the stupid FPS problems.
  • (version 1.5) SLI appears to be working well when configuring the SLI profile specifically for your setup and the quantity of GPU's to be used (not auto).
  • Also force AFR2 helps in SLI profiles.
  • Everything appears to be fantastic at ultra, but the environment setting seems to drag the game down significantly.
I didn't realize the environment setting was so sluggish until just now, and nobody had pointed it out before.
 
I'm yet to look into why the environment setting is so crippling when there are controllable options for fur, light, trees, geometry and terrain, but I thought some of you may appreciate this information, as it's tuned my experience from effectively unenjoyable to excellent.

    You want to see FPS tank? Turn on 4x TXAA and simulated fur. My dual 970s cry when I do that.
