My card worked out of the box for about two days but i have started having WOW drop to desktop, then recover with some odd graphical issues on screen that disappear until a few minutes later when it happens again.

Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered.

I have windows 8.1
corsair 650w psu
8gb ram
GTX 960 FTW (No changes to clocks)

I've read many different possibilities on what the problem could be, and taken many steps to try to resolve the issue.  At this point I'm thinking it may be the card itself.

I have tried:
1. Wiping Drivers
2. Re-seating the card
3. increasing fan rpm (runs close to 80c under load)
4. Changing power options to performance

What do I need to provide to help troubleshoot this problem before I go through the process of getting a new card.

I booted up Borderlands 2 and a few other games and had 0 errors.. it may be something with WOW specifically causing the driver error.  Doing an uninstall and reinstall of WOW to see if it makes a difference.

WOW is a game that is really more CPU bound. If your CPU is overclocked bring this back down to default and retest.

Should your CPU not be overclocked then open the NVIDIA Control Panel and choose manage 3D settings. Choose your game from the list. Turn threaded optimizations to OFF and retest.

Thanks rjohnson!  If the problem persists after the reinstall I will give this a shot.  I recently upgraded to this card from an AMD card and hadn't had the problem before.  I'll let you know if it fixes the error.

Thanks again!

How exactly did you wipe the drivers?

Wanted to report that a full re install of WOW and using rjohnson's recommendation fixed my problem.  I'm going to say it was probably 100% due to the threaded optimizations setting being on.  In regards to Sajin's question i used Display Driver Uninstaller in safe mode to remove all Display drivers, then used windows to install the drivers after the reboot.

Thanks for the quick help!!

I had to reseat RAM and card plus install the latest DirectX to fix. Also try a different 6pin/8pin connector, helped for me.
