The pics are self-explanatory. I installed the new driver over the existing 285.62. I tried uninstall old drivers, reboot, install new ones as well. Without success, what a mess. Here the 285.62 CP   Here the 295.73 CP after install before reboot   Here 295.73 after reboot. SLI is gone.    Back to 285.62. SLI reappeared.  I could resist giving the new driver a try with another clean install. I shouldn't as that gave me work for about 2 hours. After a heap of reinstallations my sys ended in 800x600. Impossible to install the driver correctly. PhysX was not installed und SLI was missing. Only a restore point with the 285.xx driver did revive my system. What a messy driver. Now SLI is back.  What a tragedy: video cards not recognized any more.

When installing the driver did you choose custom -> perform clean install?

Thats odd cause mine works just fine with the 295.73
Perform the clean install as noted

Did a Custome>Check Clean install here and no issues, I upgraded from 280.63rev. All good here.

Yes Sir. Meanwhile I've been trying nearly everything. Result: After clean install win 7 did not find vga driver again. PhysX did not show up in Add and remove programs. All in all the Nvidia driver was totally messed up. Tried to install PhysX. Win u7 mocked, another version of the program is busy. After about 6 times of clean install + ccleaner registry cleaning I was fed up. At last I found a restore point from 2/22 and at last worked and gave me back SLI in CP. Strange issue: Before reboot of the 295.73 there was SLI in Nvidia CP. Startet GTA EFLC. FPS were great, SLI worked. After reboot it looked like this, SLI was gone. Look at the last new pic in OP.

You may want to create another restore point, then use driver sweeper to clean out any old files.

Tonite I'm a bit exhausted but I'll give this a try. I installed hundreds of Nvidia drivers. Used driver cleaner before but run into issues sometimes ending in losing the standard vga driver and system restistance to any further install.
There seem to be issues on other system as well if even not many.

driver cleaner or driver sweeper seems to be outdated, cant find new versions either. only from 2006! a lot of critical remarks towards this progs.

I had this except my SLI options were gone before reboot. This is what fixed mine
my set up:
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1
CPU: Intel i7 2600k 3.40Ghz (OC'ed to 4.4Ghz)
MB: Asus Sabertooth p67 motherboard
Ram: 16GB G Skill Sniper DDR3-1866
HDD: 1TB WD Caviar 7200RPM
GPU1:EVGA Geforce GTX 560 Ti
GPU2:PNY Geforce GTX 560 Ti
I updated to the 295.73 driver from the 285.62 version this morning. Much to my disappointment, my sli configuration options in the control panel were gone. Not only that but the second card (PNY) was not registering on any software or by my OS (Device Manager). After about 1.5 hours of searching online (here and Google)i decided to check on the update status of my BIOS. After updating that, there was no change. I tried rolling back, restoring from restore points, changing BIOS settings, and trying to install the 295.73 driver repeatedly (worth a try). Finally, being a natural troubleshooter, i decided to test each card individually after installing the 295.73 driver. I took both cards out and put the PNY card into the primary PCI-e slot and booted up. Windows then went through the process of installing software for the card, then made me reboot. After the reboot the PNY GPU was running perfectly. I then reinstalled both cards into the original configuration and booted up again and bingo. After the installation of the secondary card separately, all of my sli options were back.

if you have any realtek drivers either for your network or sound uninstall them. Watch your sli options come back......

this driver messes with secondary gpu detection after reboot. my solution was to swap the cards (evga 570 vanilla in primary slot vs evga 570 HD vanilla in secondary slot initially) as I lost the ability to fold on secondary GPU after 12 hours from reboot (after driver installation through upgrade in Custom Mode - no clean install, no 3D stuff).
after swapping the cards, in fact Windows 7 installed the 570 HD (now in primary slot) card again and all is good since then. ... so try swapping the cards around if you have more than one.
