If still under EVGA warranty please contact PCcasegear for RMA procedures. Make sure you tell PCcasegear that the video card is part of an SLI system so an exact replacement is made.

If you have further questions notify Duane in Australia at the email address I posted earlier in this thread

Duane? I have a 9800gtx that needs to be RMAed. I got it from Pccasegear at launch. I just haven't bothered yet to do anything about it. What would the rma procedure be for that ?

im not to sure you will have warrenty on the 9800 gtx it would be past 2 years old ? and the 3 year warrenty didn't start till 2009 i think it was!

If your warranty in Australia is 2 years at the time you bought your product then you are still barely within the warranty period so get this taken care of ASAP. Your warranty is set to expire on 25 April 2010, assuming your warranty is valid.

Thank you for the explanations and clarifications Duane. As someone who lacks business knowledge, insights into business workings are appreciated.

I for one, appreciate that evga is expanding into our small market. I bought my Classified locally (luckily... as it needed to be replaced twice) and would have done so with the Fermis... if I was buying one card.

But because I'm buying 3, and because I want the HydroCoppers, I simply can't spend that amount of money locally. It'd work out at aproximately $2-3k and I'd still need to buy more watercooling parts and a new psu. For that amount I can get the cards AND the watercooling parts if I buy them overseas. Obviously it's more of a hassle with warranties etc etc etc... but I'll take the risk.

BUT, if (or when...) I need more pc parts, I'll keep evga in mind. This forum has been a massive help to me and the customer service is second to none. I just really do hope that things improve over time with regards to prices - after all, it'd give evga a massive edge in this market.

I don't think you can run a GTS250 and a 9800 GTX in SLI though, so if you are running both 9800GTXs in SLI and they are both EVGA branded then you need to let your vendor know about this or alternatively contact Duane for further clarification.

OK, but should that itch for SLI occur and you want to SLI again we don't want you to be left hanging

Every where you look its the same story I could show hundreds of threads
http://au.gamespot.com/pa....php?topic_id=27239022
Maybe you just rebadge Foxconn Nvidia cards so you don't have much say in the matter but Nvidia don't make your boards but its the same story there. An APAC store is what Australians want but if it is not any cheaper there is no point, the market will change Australian's are not stupid and the further we get to $1 to $1 parity with the US and the closer we get to the 2014 free trade timeline the less excuses companies will have.

EVGA was the first to list Fermi product in AU so of course the pricing was highlighted, we will also be the first vendor to have stock in AU.
Since then other vendors have released and pricing in line with EVGA. Some retailers are quoting higher price, thats up to them.

I have listed the costs involved with importing above, this has nothing to do with Free Trade, these are import and stocking costs which are all combined factors resulting in the final price, all brands have the same costs. There are no excuses or hidden costs there.

I do believe Darron just didn't read Duanes earlier post :-\

I get the impression the prices would be similar. Otherwise why would anyone buy from a vendor? That's the unfortunate nature of all this... short of cutting out retailers entirely there's no way of getting rid of a fair lot of the costs it seems :( It'd be awesome if the prices were better, and it'd give evga a serious edge, and I definately support that, but I can't imagine other businesses being too happy about it.

I've decided to do something about it because it's obvious things aren't going to magically change, there isn't going to be a price drop and I'm impatient. And now I understand why.

But atleast now evga are also aware of a big problem with the Aussie market, how we (customers) feel about that.

Just like our partners in AU we would have the same costs involved with importing and holding product. So, pricing would need to be in line with our retail partners.

If we offered cheaper pricing this would destroy the channel relationship and thats not healthy

Importing product yourself can seem attractive, you have no overheads and under the tax threshold, only initial freight charge to be concerned about. There are disadvantages and risks you need to think about however.

But at least that could add the option to save use, and apply EVGA Bucks, once the APAC cart is up. and this can add up quickley if you fold, or help others. ( $5-$12 a month) almost $200 in under 2 years, and as much as $300 or more depending on you.

I don't know how EVGA bucks can be applied in regions outside the USA once an online store is made in the future. I have no idea if the EVGA bucks will be applied in common currency or converted from USA dollars to common currency.

In the folding form, several posts have asked about EVGA Bucks, and what the point of them was for the people outside the USA was, The general consisus, and many Modaraters answers  has always been save them, Just because you can not use them now, doesn't mean you can not latter, and that EVGA was working on solutions, I don't know how quickley one will be reached, but do suspect one will be. Just out of fairness to the folders throughout the world, that do what they can to help fight sickness, and pain, by Protean folding and DNA modeling. A online store would defantly be a first step in reaching this. Although I doubt it would be available from day 1.

You've gotta understand it's a smaller market so it will have the ammount of money invested in it that is respective to the market size... ie europe usa will get more attention than south africa and australia... it's natural economics

Duane when and if we get a APAC shopping cart would you expect the carts listed price's to be in line with australian vendors or try and achieve cheaper

Just like our partners in AU we would have the same costs involved with importing and holding product. So, pricing would need to be in line with our retail partners.

If we offered cheaper pricing this would destroy the channel relationship and thats not healthy

But at least that could add the option to save use, and apply EVGA Bucks, once the APAC cart is up. and this can add up quickley if you fold, or help others. ( $5-$12 a month) almost $200 in under 2 years, and as much as $300 or more depending on you.

Yes, development of APAC sites will allow EVGA BUCKS to be used as incentive in some way.

hell ive gave up on evga in australia.... $700 for a 790i FTW Analog anyone.

blue ribbons and evga bucks.... why bother i cant use them

competitions.... why bother ive been told by evga i cant enter

by your gear from the states and bin it if it dont work... (all tho i hear the fair trade commission is going to step in soon becasue of all the people complaining they cant get manufacture warrentys because they buy from the usa and not australia {by tis i mean they buy online})

and thank god you dont live in new zealand evga GTX 285  $663.72 nz

Blue Ribbons and EVGA bucks - save them, they could be used in the future.

Competitions - Most of our competitions are global, only some are limited to the US and this depends on the other partners involved in the promo enforcing regional restrictions.

Fair trade - Our warranty clearly states the lifetime warranty is only available for US residents. For product purchased in Australia 3 years warranty applies with registration. If you take the risk of importing from another region and dont get full warranty term this has nothing to do with the Fair Trade comission. Secondly, we still provide a standard manufacturer warranty for 12 month period if purchased overseas but that warranty is supported with the region you purchased.

You have to keep in mind local economy. there are taxes and import fees to both bring money into a country from imported goods as well as keep foreign markets from undercutting local markets and causing economic upheaval.
