Evga PrecisionX Crashing

Using the Steam version and standalone versions of this utility, I have found that every time I open it, the PrecisionX server crashes, and soon after the client crashes. Every time. Is there a fix for this? I can't find any similar threads on this issue. 
 
Dunno if it matters but specs are:
  • Evga GTX 1070 SC 
  • Intel Core i5 6600k
  • Gigabye Z170xp-SLI
  • Evga Supernova 750w G2
  • 16GB of HyperX Fury Ram

    Uninstall precision, delete main install directory, use ccleaner to clean the registry, reboot pc, reinstall precision. If it continues to fail after doing what I suggested use msi afterburner instead.
