I have one GTX 470 and two GTX 275's in the same system and all I did was to take out the dummy plugs (which I needed for the GTX 275's) uninstall the previous 197.75 and 197.45 drivers, DS clean in safe mode and install the 257.15 drivers. Then, pop, no dummy plugs or extended monitors, but with the "- gpu X -forcegpu nvidia_g80" flag (X is the GPU #), all cards started folding. Isn't it nice?  The new NVCPL that comes with the 257.15 set includes an option where you select the GPU's on which CUDA is to be enabled, and "All" is default. I'm certain that this makes all the GPU cores in the system visible to folding clients and it works flawlessly. I am also certain that multi-GPU card folders will not have to use dummy plugs or enable "multi-GPU" or "SLI". Glorious days for GTX 295 owners indeed

Figures... I just finished making my dummy plugs for my main folding rig so I didn't have to run dvi cables to my monitors.

I've not had to use dummy plugs for SLI folding since the 182 series of drivers if I remember correctly.

Cool! I've noticed dummy plug usage has been hit and miss for people. I never had to use them with my 2 250's, but obviously some people did. I guess as more users update we'll see if it really has changed.

Oh my freaking dog...I just set 100% fan on my GTX470s for the first time. I think I'll keep it at 75% fixed fan speed.

Same here. But still, no dummy plug + no extending the desktop + folding in SLI is worth a few PPD for me. I hated disabling SLI and having to extend the desktop to get F@H to play nicely. Plus the new interface allowing you to control what card is dedicated to PhysX and where CUDA is enabled is just straight awesome. BIG step forward on the drivers IMHO, even if folding on these drivers needs a few tweaks now. I really want to see the next WHQL drivers now, lol.

I reverted back the the 197.45 drivers and did not have to put the plug back in. I also did not have to extend the desktop. So it seems that just having installed it, then reverting back, is good enough to get rid of the need for the plugs. Also, I am back to full PPD power. I basically did the lazy way of installing the old driver without uninstalling the newer one. I did not use DS or anything. I know there might be some issues with doing that, but so far everything is fine.

Not sure if someone else noticed but you can also run multi core and multi GPU's and leave SLI enabled.

thats awesome news I could start folding on my 9600 GT if i wanted too in my main system instead of just using it for a PhysX card all the time. I was hopeing Nvidia had a solution to get rid of the dummy plugs and extended monitor problem. kscott190

even with the hack the extended monitor issue would still be a problem, cause it would cause the mouse and program windows to go off the screen. (not a good idea for those on a single monitor)

I just installed the new 257.15 drivers on my Windows 7 64 bit.
Have an I7 with a GTX275 and a 9800GT in it. The new drivers work just fine.. no dummy plug needed now! Each card working to their max potential.

I removed my dummy plugs, rebooted and sure enough they're not needed. However with quad-SLI enabled I can only fold on 2 GPUs. But disabling SLI allows 4 GPU clients to run without issue. I don't even have to reboot when switching back and forth. Quad-SLI for gaming, and a quick disable allows 4 GPU clients to fold - schweeet!
