So, I don't ebay, ever, but I needed a CPU for a back up PC so my niece can play some games, So I went to ebay to get a CPU. I order (as pictured) Intel Core i3-2100, I received an intel G850....which, when NEW it's suggested price WAS 75....what I paid for it...sOOOOOOO ticked. I HATE ebay with a passion, always will... PIcs below!!!! Ordered!! (I am even a nice guy and hid his name!)  Received!!

Ebay has a return policy where you can easily return or get a refund if the item is not as specified even if the seller says no returns. As long as it hasn't been used, it shouldn't be an issue.

Yeah, That was the first thing I did. I've only ever used (an ebay affiliate) half.com and even then I was sent the wrong book. I mean it was corrected and I was told to keep the pone they sent...but only two uses of this place and both fails lol

I have had a few bad experiences on ebay but for the most part, people are willing to work with you and make things right. Sounds like you just got a seller that was trying to pull a fast one or just an honest mistake. I only deal with sellers with good feedback and if I am doing the selling, I ALWAYS ship with insurance.

Im about 10-11 years in with ebay and i have not had an issue yet, stinks that you got the wrong part.
However ebay will make it right if you contact them.

If someone is charging a shipping fee I won't buy from them, period. They do that because that is not refundable and would cost you more in losing the shipping to you, plus the shipping cost back to them.

umm ebay is great and you being the buyer can screw over the seller...which is awful since EBay allows this BUT! You can be a gracious buyer and let the seller know that they shipped you the wrong product. Just let them know and they messed up and give them a chance to make it right, and 99% of the time they are more than happy to fix the issue. Just take the right steps and contact the seller so they can make it right for you. If not EBay/PayPal will most of the time side with the buyer and they will refund you 100% of the cost of said product.

+1. I bought a wifi card for the BF from Ebay, and it went out in a week. I contacted seller, who not only refunded me for my trouble (I only asked for a replacement) but they also sent me, free of charge, another one! I only paid something like 8 bucks for the thing, and he is still using it and it works great.

eBay is all about the buyer now... If you use their resolution center, it will get fixed. They recently changed their Terms of Service to make the seller pay for all shipping costs when the buyer has to return an item. You will get your money back... It does suck that guy wasted your time though.

Yeah that's the message that was sent, me making a claim, he has till the third to reply. As for saying I lied, it's on surveillance cameras lol from me opening it upstairs, cleaning off the TP (which is why I was suspicious...why would you not clean that off?) to carrying it down to my room all the time on camera... so... :P As for the price i seen that....paid what it was new 3 years ago....jerk lol. Well if you started the processes already by the end of the third day or something EBay will force a charge back if they don't reply, so you will get your money back.

Yeah, if you're after technical specifics it's best to stay away from ebay.
I have generally had a good track record, but when wanting something specific I'm usually let down.
I did order a GTX650 once, and I received a GTX650Ti... So it's not all bad, it's just unguarenteeably inconsistent.
