OK, SO I was doing regular system maintenance this weekend, (removing everything, blowing out dust, reapplying TIM),

When I reassembled the rig, the system hangs on the FF boot code, with no display.  FF is the only code it is displaying.

I tried different video cards, switched ram around (I only have one set), and reseated all the wires, CPU.

What are the minimum pieces of hardware for this thing to boot?  I'm just trying to narrow the issue down to the board, the ram, or the cpu.

24pin power, at least 4 pin CPU power (Preferably 6 pin), CPU seated, heatsink seated, video card in with power plugged into the video (if applicable). Try pushing the BIOS chip down into it's socket. You may need to RMA the board.

eVGA all the way. They've done me good thus far and I hope it continues.

Have you checked out EVGA's FF Video?

you will find it here in a list of other vids

    http://www.evga.com/videos/

Also check out my thread on what seems to be the exact same issue, dont be alarmed though i have had FF before and managed to bring my system back to life but this time its not happening, i am very sad.

Pay particular attention to Afterburners post #10.

Not only did my kick ass E759 die i had to pay £52.00 ($87.00) to get it shipped to EVGA for replacement :( .

I did see the FF video as well as the FAQ thread for FF code.   I hate seeing that it's such a frequently asked question, but it's good the knowledge is there in case it is helpful to some people.

I have tried pressing the BIOS, checking for bent proc pins, checking the proc itself, trying the stock HSF vice the Xiggy Dark Knight, different power supply, trying the different 6 pin psu inputs, and even both at the same time, switching our ram trying single channel mode.

I took it completely out of it's case and ran it on my cutting board station (acryllic cutting board with standoffs :))   I tried my 3 different video cards which all function fine, and none. (GTX 260 Vanilla, 196 sp, GTX 260, 8800GTX), no luck there either.  I have a 500 watt corsair, a 1000 watt corsair, and 750 pc&p quad with no change. (they all work on my 775 boards fine)

I think it mat be time for RMA.     I wonder if it has anything to do with updating the BIOS this weekend.   I was running the original BIOS until this last update.  The Machine was also running fine with the new BIOS, until disassembly and cleaning, and possibly when I changed back to the XMP settings for my ram after BIOS update.  I wish I could just point the finger at one thing.   Hopefully this RMA can go quick.  The machine's only been up since April.     All I wanted to do was make sure everything was pristine so I could start overclocking.

ok my micro did this to me when i bought it, i tried everything you said you have tried. the problem was bent pins in the cpu socket, the classy board have more gold in the socket (so they are a hell of a lot more fragile) it is possible that you could have bent 1 by acciedent. check this first because if you have you have voided the warrenty. also if they are bent and you cant get warrenty take it to a jeweler and see if they can straighten them, i had it done and my board is working like a champ.

From the last 3 days my board has the same simptomps as I wrote in montenlava`s thread. Today the only thing I havent done was removing the BIOS cover and pressing the BIOS chip. I did it and again no change I even tried starting the board without BIOS chip and again FF. I looked in the CPU socket it seems there are no problems with the pins. I saw the FF video a few minutes ago, when my 8pin CPU connector is not connected its not showing any code, when I connect it doesnt matter what other is connected CPU/VGA/Memory only FF :(.

your probably looking to start an RMA now it may be the board or it may be the actual CPU, luckily i had my old E758 to test my CPU which was still working so i RMAed the board.

Try and figure out which one of those is the culprit, if you dont have another CPU or a different board then i guess you could take a gamble on which you think has the issue.
