He just tweeted a yes to that question. Woot! I don't have a 2560x1600 rez screen or surround set up so it's not something that is useful to me, but there are plenty out there that it's worthwhile.

It seems like most of the masses have this resolution or less display which is why evga's card has fit the bill, we'll just hafta wait and see what they have in store for the next round.

basicallyevolve If you ask me it is a horrible Practice. When they do not tell their customers about upcoming products all it does is make them lose more customers. If Chevy was coming out with a new car... would they not turn and tell people who are die hard chevy fans about it? of course they would.. because those people who are interested in the upcoming vehicle will wait for it instead of settling for what is out then and there. Same goes for phones. The Droid bionic... The Optimus 2x. Iphone coming to Verizon. If those companies who are going to be selling the phones made by LG , HTC and motorola did not advertise the phones months in advance they would have a very hard time keeping customers. Think of how many customers ATT lost because of the iphone 4 heading to verizon? They got the word from verizon that they would be able to get it in a few months and people either did not renew to ATT or are waiting for the Verizon phone. If Nvidia + EVGA Helped out by talking about their products before hand like Asus and Gigabyte do... it would leave a few customers with a good taste in their mouth knowing that a good product is going to hit the streets. I would gladly wait for all EVGA products because i love their warranty and the fact they are 45 minutes away from me :P. But the secrecy is a bit too much as it stands. I just looked at the Maximum board basically sell out for the P67 so quickly :P. I am sure if the maximus buyers knew more about the classified or a release date it would make at least half of them hold off for the classified. But knowing nothing about it will make it seem as if it will never come when everything else is already in the streets :P Just my 2 cents :P AGREED +10000000

Here's to wishful thinking :P Done expect it that a 1000 card limited productions has anything special on it like double the Vram reference will have. Only replacement you will find is a 2GB(as in 4GB in total?) dual 560 thing. Only thing i like is that i think EVGA took the hint and realised that 1,53GB wont cut it anymore on a 580, but they are already to late to the party and now they need to put on a dual/tripple 2,5-3 slot fan on the card to be up to the spec and competitive to the referencecard in that leauge that all have 2,5-3 slot cooler exept Palit but its cooler is not as good as Gainwards neither in look or performance. Also noone exept Swiftek may do a WC block for that card when everybody buys card that has WC-block for it(Gainward/Palit but at least Gainward due to the 2,5 slot cooler and the 1/2 slot airspace runs cool enought in SLi to not need it anyway exept for the look)

Based on what we're seeing for temps from the 6990, I would venture a guess that what EVGA showed around CES, with three fans was the 590. This is based on my personal experience with putting the AC Accelero on a hot running 275 (used for folding) and seeing the difference it made. Therefore it will take 2.5 slots. but you can only SLI them for quad operation so theoretically that should be fine. But didn't Jacob also tweet that the 3GB will be nVidia surround? I was going to purchase a second GTX 580, but with the anticipation of the new cards, I'm holding off to see what my options are going to be. I can hardly take it!!!

Can anyone from EVGA comment on if current 580 backplates will fit on the 3GB cards? Or if they have the reference cooler? I want to upgrade to these cards but I want to know if I can keep my backplates, and if they will fit in the normal 2 slots so I can get 3 of them.

I would only buy a 3gb card with REAR EXHAUST as the Reference Design is the superior. nVidia knew the best structural design after all the experimentation Palit & Gainward thrusted upon the PC Gamer enthusiast community. This is assuming a Motherboard setup with Tri Sli or if one was contemplating SLI "back to back"
