I expect $550-$600 depending on how they package them. If it's Classified Editions like with the 590, probably $600. The Palit cards were selling for $600 on Newegg before they pulled them. They know the people that want them really want them, so they have room to charge more than normal. The 256MB chips probably aren't cheap either. I hope I'm wrong though, 1.5GB price drop to $480 and 3GB selling for $520 would be great.

I would love to see these out tomorrow but I know it's not going to happen.

As for price, I would think these will be clock same as the SC, so $520 is the starting point.  Add $50 for the extra RAM and $10 for whatever else they might want to throw in and BAM $580 is my guess!

Whats annoying is that ATI can afford to put 2GB of ram on their cards yet when it's done on nvidia cards everyone gets charged a big premium :-\ Even the 6950 has 2GB! The nvidia price premium is getting increasingly annoying as ATI cards catch up :(

Do you guys think that 3GB version might be any different on temps or OC stability due to enlarged VRAM? Or VRAM shouldn't effect those?

Still, these 580s have an additional four 256MB chips compared to AMD's offerings. The 6950 was designed to have 2GB from the beginning and the price of the eight 256MB chips was built into the MSRP. If a partner released a 4GB 6950 or 6970, I'm sure it would be much more expensive. If for no other reason then the requirement of 512MB instead of 256MB GDDR5 chips. EVGA might be taking a slight hit on these cards compared to the regular 580s, I don't know what real difference in price is. Realistically though, you can't expect them to take much of a hit, if any all, on these cards otherwise there would be no incentive to offer them in the first place.

It's possible, although hard to tell unless we know exactly what 256MB chips they're using. The temps should be pretty similar. I bought three 2GB GTX 285 FTWs two years ago and they didn't clock as well as the original 1GB versions. However, I think the general redesign of the 285 after release had something to do with it as well.

It shouldn't have three DVI ports because single Nvidia GPUs only support output to two displays.

Earlier Jacob said these cards would fit the reference 580 blocks. As such I wouldn't expect them to much different in any respect besides memory from the regular 580s. I could be wrong though.

If anything it will use less power and create less heat on the modules as they are a smaller fabrication, either 55nm from elpida or 40nm from hynix.

I think a few people made some good points.  Since others have already come out with their 3GB versions, you would think EVGA would do something extra to theirs.  They are late to the game to simply slap 3GB VRAM on a 580 and try to sell it.  Also many report that the regular 580 already come with the high flow brackets so I think its a given.

Gainward Phantom 3GB is 526euro and the 1,5GB is 449euro and they are identical exept the memory. both have the beefy cooler that make the card cool and quiet so no extra cost on either way there.
Take the Palit 3GB 580 that is the same as Gainward exept the cooler. The 1,5GB is 500USD on newegg right now and the 3GB was 600 and a bird told me they will come again soon as stores here have Gainward 580 3GB in stock again. The current situation will not help getting lower price either with dollarvalue and Japan.
So unless EVGA pull out a better cooler they will get a serious run for their customers on the 3GB market now as Gainward/Palit is back with a new batch and have the upper hand.
