Currently getting excited on my new build that is listed below.

I am wondering how you guys run your fans? With no 5.25 bay I saw a Lamptron controller listed below that uses a Windows 7 based software to control fans. So basically I would have the controller inside the case. maybe ill make a black acrylic cover to make it look neat

Gotta say I love EVGA, Great Products even when there are hiccups the support is always great

I only can say Phanteks with Tempered Glass is great and beautifull case.
How much cost, for 230$ is available and Lian-Li PC-O11?

I personally do not like controlling my fans through software.
 
I would use the SMART fan settings inside your EVGA Z170 Classified K bios to adjust the curve. Connect your fan controller to the CPU2 fan header and that will provide you with the SMART fan control options in bios.

 
Same here the smart feature works top notch I prefer BIO's
 
I was running the first half of year 24.7 OC but have backed off to loose clocks balanced power plan.
 
Gaming, Multi-task heavy, and am now running a full Media Server via EMBY serves while encoding to Hopper/Joey standards for the whole house  on my rig and it is chewing everything up like it is nothing.
 
I had never heard of Emby it is top notch the free edition is loaded and beautiful UI just in case anyone out there is looking for one. I tried Kodi, Plex all those other names none worked right maybe 1/3rd of the 2 big names worked. Tversity worked 100% but was ugly Emby is pro those guys did a wicked job.

What is that thing with the Connect the Fan controller that one of the techs said. Never really understood what he really meant

That would the CPU Fan (headers / connections) on the motherboard for the CPU1 and CPU2 fan should be at the top above you memory dimms labeled correctly below the 4pin connectors.
 
3pin = DC
4pin = PWM
 
just make a mental note or write down if needed what fans are on X connection {X being CPU1-2, System etc fan connections} you can set per fan DC-PWM in bios under HWmonitor.
 
 
SMART setting the fans adjust themselves dynamically base on temps and needed cooling instead of blasting them 100% 24.7 I use to do this in a 24.7 OC for safety it is loud as it will not seem as you become adjusted to it.
 
In a OC you should have your windows power plan set on high performance to keep clocks full speed, you can OC your chip but leaving power plan on power saver etc without modifying the plan will be loose clocks like minimum CPU clocks then when it is triggered it will hit OC target. Power plan modified and high plan is best for OC they will be 100% no power saving.
 
Now I have went to 4.2 on my i6700k using power saver plan I love how quite my machine is and actually runs much cooler than expected I full air cooled running loads of applications right now, like 20 browser windows open lol, I have Emby media server active playing and decoding on 2 TVs and have just installed Media Portal [MEDIA SERVER] for Live TV which works side by side with Emby so 2 media servers. I am sitting @ 28C with all this on stock clocks and that plan super quite too.
 
My mchine is eating through this stuff like it is nothing how ever I plan on building a NAS for this dedicated use ASAP I would prefer to make a new 270 platform build but I am way to poor for that right now haha. Took em forever to save up for this build but reached enough as soon as my 780i PCIe fried heck could have been the 480 I have not tested it but theat EVGA power build went near a decade of heavy abuse 100% OC life 2duals then a quad I have a brand new 680i SE still in box but not worth investing a build for what I need.
 
If you need screen or me shoot a quick video and upload it just ask man I don't mind I try to get on as I can but been super busy taking care of my father. But am making it on more and more. just quote me or message

mind the dust lol time for cleaning I was just about to order some anti-dust material for the front of my THOR case, I bring it every day with my job cannot get around it fine powdery stuff to so annoying
