I miss DOOM II. Now I want to play. O Rings ordered. Decided to buy them instead of making them. Getting lazy in my old age.

Random gold plating update: first quote to come back was a $300 minimum charge. Second quote was the guy only does regular soft (pure) gold plating. Might just end up leaving mine plain copper and calling it a day. Definitely not paying more to have the blocks dunked in some chemical baths than it cost to have them machined in the first place.

A little bit more than what EK would charge for a full cover waterblock, but that's explained by these being in much smaller quantities. Watercooling gear has always been a BOAT - bust out another thousand :) But that's the price we pay for max performance.

break? never. I was about to go down and look into the X99 Micro and FTW blocks and I realized I don't have either of the 2 board to test fit so its a huge gamble on my part that I can extrapolate the components exact locations.

Block installation: The Vreg just gets installed with 1 plastic washer on the outside insulating the board from the screw with 1mm thermal tape, and light pressure on the screws. You want light even pressure. Too much pressure will warp the board and make for more contact on the outer vregs and none on the middle ones. Thermal tape on both the vregs, and the chokes: The chipset will be more time consuming, but by no means difficult. First clear out the area you are working with and dont work in the dark. The washers are black, so if you drop them they will be hard to see. The same as above where 1 washer insulates the screw from the board, but 2 washers together will act as a spacer on the top side of the board: Then some thermal paste will work well on the chipset. I would recommend flipping the board upside down, and putting in the 3 screws (keep in mind 2 of them are 3-48, and 1 in the mobo hole is 4-40) and washer in the board, holding them with 3 fingers, and slipping the board back on a table to keep each screw in place. Place the block on top of the screws, and slide the board off the table so you can access 1 screw at a time and begin to rotate the screw until it catches and move on to the next. Remember light pressure. Here is most of the batch: Here is a set installed: Thus the completed X99 Classified waterblocks are ready to go! (pending each individual leak test)

Good god is that clean looking. Nateman I applaud you at another job well done. Got to get busy doing a flow path around the GPU's to get to that chipset block.
