    so far no WHEA event logger errors.  Thanks for the fix.  Now if only my sound card will automatically get recognized w/o having to force it at 1x.

    Nice... Stable on my OC, and it fix my 3way SLI so that I do not have to mess with the PCIe settings in the bios anymore.

    Can we get some elaboration on the "improvements" to SATA and overclocking?  For overclocking is it something significant like I should re-do my overclock from scratch or is it something minor like you guys only made a tiny slope change to the load line equation?

    For SATA we just made some general improvements to improve the performance, not huge, but there are speed improvements on most setups.

    As others have mentioned the WHEA problem is gone in the system events log. However, the BIOS still does not detect my 580GTX Classifieds PCI-E bus correctly. It still thinks its 1.0. I have them manually set to 2.0. I still have problems with my NVidia driver crashing. "Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered" is what is displayed in the system events viewer. I am guessing future NVidia drivers will fix this issue. Other then that, things seem to be running fine. My corsair K70 RGB keyboard works in the bios, just need to remember to move the dip switch to BIOS mode on the keyboard itself(this was an issue in BIOS 1.05 and lower). I have not really OC'd much yet. I might start diving into that a bit more now. Nice Job EVGA

    Yes, that is normal for some cards.

    Some cards do not boot at full PCI-E performance, instead, when they are idle they reduce the PCI-E bus speed, this is why it shows as the lower speed.

    For some reason even though I updated to 1.07 without any issues, I can't seem to get this to update.  I've done every single step to make sure I am doing it correctly and am still getting this error.  Any tips on fixing this issue?  It's a bummer considering I have 2800 ram and liquid cooling but when I overclocked (even with a fixed voltage and passing stress tests) my games would completely go down the drain.  I play CS:GO and I unlock the FPS and show a net_graph; with my bios on default my fps is 999... when I do my overclock to 4.5GHZ w/ XMP my fps is a mere 120 instead of 999 and the game stutters as well as programs in general.

    Also, here is an example of something that isn't making sense.
    Picture 1: Default Bios (Lower Benchmark via 3DMARK)
    Picture 2: Overclocked to 4.58Ghz with 5820K w/ XMP (2800 Memory) - Passes stress tests and doesn't go above 80 degrees (H100i Push & Pull w/ 4 Cougar 120mm Fans) - 36 Idle Temp, 55-60 in high stress games.  Unfortunately even though everything says STABLE all of my games run like crap and almost have a delay and stutter (HIGHER BENCHMARKS)

    Thank you for the explanation Jacob, I did not know that. So that just leaves the NVidia driver crashing issue. Hopefully the next release NVidia driver release will rid me of the last bug.

    @kmarch - Can other things be on the flash drive?  I've actually never updated bios until the new x99 platform because I always had bought older platform motherboards that had updates already implemented.  But to answer your question; No, I haven't.  If I can have other things on the flash drive other than the zip file than I can try it.

    Yep, just has to be formatted in fat32. I have multiple bios on the same stick just choose the one you need and go.

    Have you made sure that you right click on the "update" script and do a "run as administrator" ? I always make sure to do this. Also in the BIOS make sure its a capital "Y". Maybe none of this makes a difference, but I always make sure to do it, and I never have troubles updating the BIOS on EVGA boards. Had EVGA motherboards since the 790I days. Otherwise, try using a USB stick as mention earlier. Certainly that should work.

    I just did it from the command prompt directly.  Here's the files that you need along with the .BIN (I just make a new folder on my Desktop):

    For overclocking it improves some of the auto voltages, so as you increase bclock/multi, some of the advanced voltages will adjust to maximize the OC.

    Definitely see the increase in the CPU voltage when using Auto and just a multiplier OC.

    BIOS 1.07 set it at 1.176V with a 40x multiplier;

    BIOS 1.09 set it at 1.280V;

    System was completely stable at 4gh with 1.176V so maybe I need to set the voltage to Manual and start lowering it?  Idle temps don't seem to have changed too much, but under a full load temps have risen, at least, 5c-10c.  So, I'd like to see those temps come back down.

    Also, though I'm able to increase the RAM Memory Frequency on my G.Skill (with an automatic change in the default timings - tRAS from 35 to 36) to 2400Mhz from the stock 2133Mhz with no problems and still be stable there is still no XMP support.

    Admittedly, I'm behind the times on the benefits of Intel's XMP, to me it seems like more of a marketing thing than something actually useful.

    But, it is an annoyance to have XMP RAM and a motherboard that's supposed to support it list the RAM as unsupported.

    Otherwise, though...this machine is so fast and stable and am exceptionally happy with it's performance.

    I'm not getting the results I wanted; I have XMP Profile 1 enabled in order to obtain my 2800 ram.  Considering my RAM is XMP 2.0 (and the motherboard isn't supporting that yet for some very odd reason), should I not use XMP?  I guess I'm just not as savvy with this new processor as I thought I would be.  With my 3770k I had it @ 4.6GHZ Stable; Although this has more cores, it seems like with my FPS issues in game that benchmark scores don't mean anything.  For the rig I have, my benchmarks aren't great.  When I overclocked it to 4.58GHZ I only scored about 20 points higher as well.  Things just aren't really adding up and it's becoming frustrating because I feel like when I leave the BIOS @ bone stock (memory @ 2133 when it's supposed to be @ 2800.. 100 bus speed.. non overclocked) things run more smoothly, especially games.  Why would a game run smoother when it's underclocked and when I do indeed overclock it passes prime95/intelburn and doesn't seem to have hiccups?

    Stock clocks are not underclocked.

    That being said, as I now have a second motherboard on the way so I can hopefully test my stuff, I can completely understand you frustration.

    I wish EVGA would stop focusing on the GPUs for a moment and focus directly on the product that was launched a few weeks prior. Waiting 3 weeks per broken bios revision isn't good.

    I didn't want to go back to Asus, but I am after I test the motherboard. If they haven't released a dang good bios, I won't buy another motherboard, and will stick to the GPUs.

    3 more days of waiting because NewEgg improperly shipped my motherboard.  At that time, I am requesting a full refund from NewEgg, and buying an RVE.  If the Classified ever shows up, I will figure out what to do with it at that time.
